Carter is in te library reading some book. Sadie comes inside with a loud opening of the door. Carter is startled by the sound and falls from the chair. Sadie laughs and Zia walks in right after Sadie. She helps Carter stands up and Carter glares at his sister. 'Why did you even have to do that? Can't you just walk in like a normal human being?'
'Brother, I am a normal human being. Maybe you should come back to earth and get out of the library for once. Dinner is ready and your still aren't at the table with everyone.'
Sadie walks out. Zia tells Carter to come but Carter doesn't want to eat. He isn't hungry at all. He has been feeling stressed since the idea of him being a farao. He doesn't feel ready. He's scared to be a farao at such a young age. Zia doesn't have a problem with it but he wants to live a normal life. He has had enough adventures with the Egyptian gods.
'Thanks, Zia. I ate an hour ago and I'm not hungry anymore.'
Zia knows that he's lying but doesn't say anything. She knows that her boyfriend has a hard time being open about his mind. Carter is over his father's dead but he doesn't feel the same closeness with anyone else. She hopes that he will trust her enough to tell her when he's feeling down.
Zia walks to the dining table and begins eating her meal. The students notice that Carter isn't with her and she just says the lie Carter told her. They believe her.
Carter has been trying to read a page the last 30 minutes but can't concentrate, thanks to Horus. Horus has been trying to convince him to be the farao. What Horus actually means is that so he himself can be the farao with him.
Carter has been having a harder time with the god of war. After the gods found a way back to the human world, did the gods bond with the wizards back.
Horus had learned how to confuse Carter with his ideas. Carter hasn't tried to make any conversation about the throne. He's scared that the god will change his mind and he'll make a huge mistake.
'You know Carter, you're more boring than usual. You should live a little. You still haven't had sex with the gir.'
Carter shuts Horus' voice. He really doesn't have any time to have such conversations. Especially not from that bigheaded idiot. He walks out of the library as silent as possible. He walks into his room and lays on the bed. He's mentally exhausted. He talked to Amos today and Amos isn't really helping him at this point.
Everybody is done with supper and are setting a movie ready. The youngest are arguing and there are penguins appearing. The older student are sending the penguins back to the North-pole. Sadie is just on the couch talking with Anubis/Walt. Zia is talking with another student about a spell.
Carter is woken up by the sound of the television. He wants too sleep but his brain is raising again. He sits up and sees Horus on the bed. He's shocked by this and sits up.
Horus looks at him as if there is nothing weird happened.
Horus likes Carter's characteristics. He's not like most children with godly powers. He finds it sometimes very annoying that Carter isn't easy to persist but that is also what makes him unique.
'What the fuck! Why are you on my bed?!'
'Calm down. It's not like I did something inappropriate.'
Carter stands up.
'Just get off the bed so we can have a normal conversation.'
'But we are having a conversation. Your just overreacting and can't I relax on a bed once. I maybe a god but I like my free time.'
Carter want to facepalm but keeps a straight face. He asks what Horus wants and Horus tells him about the idea that gods thought of. The gods want to send him to the time of the Egyptians, so he can learn how to be a farao. As if Carter hadn't had enough problems. Now he has this.
'I should be going or the others will notice I'm gone.'
Carter asks if he knows something else but that is everything Horus knows. Horus goes and Carter has again some time to think. What should he do. He doesn't want to be a farao and now they think of sending him to another century. He wants to send those immortals back to that hellhole. The months when they were banned from the earth was calm and life was good.
Carter's lack of sleep catches up with him and he goes back to sleep.
Sadie is tired and the others are still watching the 3th movie of tonight. Summer just began and they have begun there new sleeping schedule. Staying awake until they have watched 3 movies before sleeping.
Sadie is concerned about her twin. She may not act like it but she can easily read Carter's emotions from his face. She may not be the smart one between them but she can read people easier than him. If Carter was more social he would know how to too but he isn't. She opens the door to Carter's bedroom and sees him snuggled up with the pillow.
It's a habit of Carter to snuggle while sleeping. She had laughed at Carter when she found out about this. Carter never talks about his sleeping. He knows that as a grownup it's weird, but he still has a hard time sleeping in another position.
Sadie sees that the sheets aren't on him and silently covers him.
