Aurora didn't know what in the made S.H.I.E.L.D take an interest in her when one morning a man with one eye showed up on her doorstep telling her someone was going to try and rule earth. She also didn't know what made them think she wanted to fight with his "Avengers".
What she did know is that the hot red head she met at Starbucks was a part of that group. And if Natasha was going to fight she would be there every step of the way until she agreed to go on a date with Aurora.

The agent was, of course, hired to recruit the brunette and make sure she had proper training. That didn't mean that Aurora didn't have to enjoy it. She enjoyed it way more than a person who found out a literal god wanted to take over New York and the world while he was at it.
