Alright.

Let me get something clear about Yin-Yang relationships...

THEY

*clap*

DO NOT

*clap*

HAVE

*clap*

TO HATE

EACH OTHER.

They just need to cycle each other, and have something important about themselves that's different, but needed about each other. They need each other to an extent.

Take for example; Homura and Madoka.

They're a yin yang pair.

Homura needs Madoka to have purpose and not die painfully, and Madoka needed Homura to live.

Madoka is extremely selfless, while Homura is extremely selfish.

If Madoka's wish is granted, Homura's wish is unfinished. If Homura's wish is fulfilled, Madoka's in incomplete.

To quote Homura herself,

Okay, back to the writing thing, and yes, I'll get to how perfectly the Madoka series was written)

It shows how selfless Madoka is, and how selfish Homura is.

And even after that happened at the end of Rebellion, the two still didn't hate each other. Homura took Madoka's burden upon herself, and even embraced her selfishness and accepted the fact that they'd become enemies one day, as long as Madoka was safe and happy.

I find it a well written yin-yang relationship.

They don't have to be completely different.

And they can hate each other, but personally, I find the ones where they have an unpredictable but overall positive relationship are the well written ones.

What is a bad "yin-yang" relationship?

AloneTraveler and Selozar.

They cycle, yes, but they;

-Don't need each other to any extent

-Don't have something completely opposite about each other, they have differences though, but one isn't "good" and "evil"

They're both bad people. Selozar is very comparable to Homura (wow do I have any other praiseable references?)

They're both painted in a sympathetic light, but the closer you look into them the worse of a person blooms from them. (Homura isn't a bad person, but she isn't a good person either)
