Sophie let go of its fang and started to walk towards Lilac and Ruy, not turning her back towards the dragon. The dragon stopped snarling and following her, observed her. Sophie, Ruy, and Lilac started to hike out of the valley, glancing behind their shoulders to eye the dragon. The dragon kept its eyes trained on all of them, watching them clamor up the hill. Right as they were out, Sophie swore she saw the strangest thing as she left.

The dragon was bowing its head.

Lilac POV

"Lilac... there is something I need to tell you," Amalia said quietly. Lilac stared at her as they continued to walk back to the base. Lilac looked at her expectantly.

"Your mother... she is, well..." Amalia stuttered over her words. Lilac looked at her, concerned.

"She is my mother too." Amalia squeaked out. Lilac stopped dead in her tracks, staring at Amalia. Amalia looked anywhere but Lilac's eyes and was nervously pulling at her eyelashes.

"What?" Lilac whispered. Amalia nervously looked at Ruy, who shrugged.

"Eumelia left my father and me after I was born. And went off and had you... I'm sorry if-" Amalia was cut off by Lilac power tackling her with a hug.

"You're my half-sister!" Lilac giggled. She knew it, Lilac knew it! They looked so similar, and Lilac just felt herself gravitating toward Amalia. Lilac felt Amalia hug back and laugh with her. Lilac realized something and pulled back to look at her sister.

"You don't call her momma. Why?" Lilac asked. Amalia looked at the ground and fiddled with her hands.

"Do you remember anything about our mother, Lila?" Amalia asked.

"Not really..." Lilac trailed off.

"Well, she wasn't the nicest person. She deserted my father and me leaving my father to raise me alone. She never contacted us or even tried to send over money to help my father. She just up and left. I refused to ever call her mother after that, and try not to bring her up." Amalia said quietly. Lilac stared at Amalia, not knowing what to say. Was Eumelia that bad of a person? She just deserted her daughter and lover with no goodbye or anything?

"I was calling her mother because I didn't know what else to call her. If you want me to call her Eumelia-"

"No, it is okay, Lila! I can't call her my mother, but you can if that is what you are comfortable with." Amalia said, taking Lilac off her lap. Lilac thought for a minute, thinking back to her mother.

"She never really felt like a mother. I didn't know what else to call her." Lilac admitted. Amalia smiled and flicked her nose.

"You call her whatever you wish," Amalia said quietly. Ruy was waiting behind them, watching them carefully. Lilac nodded and hugged her sister close, not wanting to let her go.

"So, what happened after Eumelia left?" Lilac asked.

"Well, it all started with an impulsive little girl and her father..." Amalia started.

Sophie told Lilac everything. She told her about Inalia, her Pancras form, and the Assassins. She told her about her other name and her time with the elves. Lilac listened intently, gasping whenever Sophie talked about grand fights or hard decisions. Ruy even seemed to be listening as well, but staying very quiet and just directing them back to the base. They made it out of the woods and saw the base in the distance.

"So your name is also Sophie?" Lilac asked, holding her sister's hand. Sophie nodded.

"I go by both if you want to call me one or another," Sophie stated.

"I like Amalia better." Lilac smiled. Sophie ruffled her hair before stopping behind Ruy, who halted suddenly.

"Get down!" Ruy whispered. The three of them ducked behind the bushes and watched as Neverseen patrols walked past them. Ruy cursed and turned to Sophie.

"You are a telepath, right?" Ruy asked.

"Yes?" Sophie answered.

"Transmit to Alvar, tell him to pick up Lilac and bring her back. You need to come with me." Ruy said, still glaring at the Neverseen members. Sophie pulled Lilac in a tight hug.

"Stay here, okay? Alvar will come and get you." Sophie said in the hug.

"I will see you again, right?" Lilac asked.

"Of course! I need to leave now, okay? Just stay low to the ground and don't come out for anybody but Alvar." Sophie said quietly. Sophie sent a quick transmission to Alvar, then followed Ruy. Lilac nodded and watched as Ruy and Sophie started back to base at top speeds. Ruy pulled her through secret corridors and hallways. They quickly ended up in front of her door. Ruy knocked on it vigorously, glancing down each hall. Maha promptly went to answer the door.

"Oh, and why are you two coming back so late in the night?" Maha asked suggestively, wiggling her eyebrows and looking at their wild hair and messed outfits. Ruy pushed her into the room and Maha's arms.

"She tried to tame a damn dragon, that's why," Ruy said quickly. Maha's eyebrows stopped wiggling.

"What?" She asked, looking at Sophie. Sophie just nervously chuckled and pressed down her hair, trying to make it flat against her head.

"Keep her in the room tonight; tomorrow we will have to bring her back down to her cell. I need to leave, goodnight." Ruy said quickly. He waved before darting down the hall and towards the barracks.

"So... is like taming a dragon a code word meaning you two made out? Or did you try to tame a dragon?" Maha asked. Sophie sighed and walked over to her vanity, pulling the pins out of her hair.

"No yeah, I did help a dragon, but taming is a stretch. I just kind of... created a relationship. Something the dragon would remember me by. It was injured, and I couldn't just leave it." Sophie sid as her honey hair fell back around her shoulder. Maha snapped out of her trance and walked over with some cotton pads and wake up remover, wiping off Sophie's face.

"I don't know how you do it, Sophie, I don't," Maha laughed. Sophie giggled with her, and Maha brought Sophie some fresh clothes to change into after Sophie took a bath. Sophie quickly covered her shoulders with a fluffy blanket, before Maha could see her tattoo.

Sophie invited Maha to spend the night in her room on the couch, Maha accepted

Sophie invited Maha to spend the night in her room on the couch, Maha accepted. As Sophie was closing the shutters to her room, she spotted something. Right where the prison was, about 20 Neverseen members were passing around booze and talking around a campfire, and right next to them, there was crumbling mortar in the walls.

"What are you looking at?" Maha asked. Sophie continued to stare at the wall with the weak mortar and rowdy drunks.

"An exit point," Sophie whispered, glancing at Maha.
