On a hilltop, in the mouth of the cave he called home, Shadow the Hedgehog stood watching everything transpire in front of him. Well, not really watching. He was thinking. Thinking of the events that had transpired roughly two months ago. How he and his rival, Sonic, had gone all across different dimensions, meeting new people, and ultimately stopping a dimensional crisis. Some of the people he'd met were some of the best fighters he'd ever seen. A wondering martial artist, a robot boy with a plentiful supply of weaponry, and plenty of others. And of course... the two plumbers. Together, they'd stopped villains from all over different dimensions. Now, the worlds could rest easy now...
Suddenly, something came to Shadow's mind. He wasn't sure what it was, but he was sure of one thing: someone, or something, was in trouble. The more he thought about it, the worse it got. He knew that he had to do something about about it. He quickly gathered the seven Chaos Emeralds. Once gathered in his possession, he dashed down the hillside. He knew what he had to do.
"I've got to find Sonic."
