Eva: I don't understand you father(Sits down beside Alberto)
Alberto: What don't you understand Eva? You are not working for Esther Ramirez and her daughter and that is final
Eva: But father, we need the money to take care of the family, i mean look at Sofia for instance, she needs to go to school
Alberto:I do get that part, but why Esther?
Jane:(Enters into the living room) Why Esther what?
Eva:Welcome mother. I was just telling father that it will be best for all of us if i work for Esther and Alicia.
Jane:I don't really see anything wrong in that but why of all people Esther?
Eva:Why else? because of the money. We can't be living and suffering like this. And I'm not only working for Esther per say, I'm also working for Alicia
Jane:Eva, Alicia will turn you into rags. A maid is okay, but rags?
Eva:Of course I know that Alicia isn't all nice but I will go through anything for all of us to be happy.
Jane:(Sits beside Eva and holds her hand) Look Eva, I am happy that you are willing to make our lives better but........................
Eva:(Interrupts her) Please mother, we need this (Turns to Alberto) Please father
Alberto:(Looks at Jane, then back at Eva) Okay Eva, but you can quit anytime and come back home.
Sofia:(Runs into the house) Good afternoon mummy and daddy (Sits on Eva's lap) Hi Evie!
Eva:Hello Sunshine, how was school?
Sofia:Boring! I just couldn't wait to come home
Carlos:(Enters into the house and closes the door) You're just five and you already hate school, when you're 12,i wonder how you'll feel about school then.
Eva:Oh stop Carlos. (Stands up with Sofia and holds her hand) Come on Sofia, you're gonna need a bath. You look dirty
Jane:(Stands up and takes Sofia's hand from Eva's) Don't worry Eva, i'll take Sofia, you have something to talk to Carlos about. Come on Alberto, let's go Sofia.

(They leave)
Carlos:You want to talk to me about something Eva?
Eva:(Sits down) Why don't you sit down?
Carrlos:(Sits down) What is it?
Eva:Carlos.....................I'm going to work for Esther Ramirez and Alicia Ramirez
Carlos:Why would you do that? Look Eva, if this is about the money the family needs.........
Eva:(Interrupts him) Are you saying that i shouldn't work?
Carlos:That's not what i'm saying and you know it. I'm already working and the money is coming just not now.
Eva:How long will it take? You have been telling us the money is coming. For goodness sake Carlos, Sofia's school fees is due tomorrow. I want to work Carlos.
Carlos:(Stands up angrily) If you want to work Eva, you work but whatever happens in that house should not be heard or brought back to this house (leaves)
Eva:Of course i will work.

EVA'S ROOM
Jane:(Enters the room) Eva, can i talk to you?
Eva:(Sits up) Of course mom, what do you need?
Jane:(Sits down on the bed) I just wanted to know when you're leaving to start staying in Esther's house.
Eva:(Sighs) Tomorrow
Jane:Tomorrow? don't you think that that's a little too soon?
Eva:I thought so but Esther said i have to start working tomorrow or she'll reduce the money by 50%
Jane:( shocked) 50%? Isn't that too much?
Eva:Yeah and i don't even know how much she's paying me.
Jane:Okay Eva, i understand. Have you told Carlos?
Eva:Yes, but he wasn't really happy about it too.
Jane:Hmmm. Sounds like him.What about Sofia, have you told her?
Eva:No and i'm not sure i'm going to tell her at all.
Jane:(stands up) Well you'll have to tell her sooner or later because it wouldn't be the best if she finds out on her own.You know how she starts throwing tantrums.
Eva:(laughs) Yeah
Jane:(hugs Eva) I'm gonna miss you Eva
Eva:I'm gonna miss you too mother,more than you think. I'm gonna miss all of you so much.
Jane:We'll miss you too
Eva: Even Carlos?
Jane:Even Carlos Evie.
