Chapter 1 : You

∾✶∾

"Move! Everyone move!" Yelled the servants as they pushed everyone out of their way, the crowd's eyes gathered towards the loud yelling for the source of the sudden racket. The middle of the street had been emptied as the few townspeople left in the middle of the street hurried to the sides. A silver carriage rolled down the street as it drove past the huge crowds. Curiously, the townspeople took a peek at who was inside the royal carriage, only to see a young woman whose face was covered by a veil. "It must be the fiancée of that young master from the Golden Dawn...I hear he was getting married today." They murmured, gossiping as they got hushed by the servants holding them off the street. Their gazes followed the trotting white horses as they pulled the metallic carriage.

"Shush! No yepping!" They shouted, before bringing their focuses back to following the silver carriage. The rhythm of the servants marching synced with the trotting of the horses, as their elegant white clothes and the horses white fur shone in the sunlight. The crowd left behind quickly gathered into huddles and whispered rumors, after rumors. "I heard that it was that young master, Langris Vaude, getting married!" One of the townsfolk said, but another protested. "No! It was the young one from the Lunette family." They nodded in agreement and watched as the shiny silver carriage faded farther and farther. "But I do wonder who the bride is...I heard she was that strange girl from the royal Novak family..." Said one of the townspeople, as they felt a shiver down their spine just thinking of her name. Seems that the young girl did not hold a positive reputation.

The girl in the carriage smiled as she lifted her veil up to breathe better. "Swan, please inform Wizard King Julius that I will arrive on time, and to prepare for the wedding ceremony." She said, waiting for a response from her handmaiden. She bounced up to the air a bit as the carriage took a bump. "I'm sorry...umh...Lady Novak, there seems to be a problem after the transmission." The servant responded with a shaky and hesitant voice, as the young girl coughed and cleared her throat before replying. "What seems to be troubling?" she asked, hoping for it to be about the wedding.

A sinister thought lingers in her mind as she smiles deeply on the upturning assumption of it being atrocious. "It seems like the groom's family had called off the wedding, last minute." The young maiden responded with a raspy tone as she felt terror's bestowing, unsure of who her lady might reside as today if she were to hear such news. The girl smiled and laughed silently, as she pinched her cheeks to check if it was true, but she had already known. As she had wishes for this to come true. It was on her that such an unfortunate event were to have happened, she knew it was no one's but her own fault for wanting on such a thing.

"That's unfortunate, isn't it?" The young lady known as Lady Novak spoke, her voice leaving a cold chilling shiver down the spine of the servants surrounding the carriage. Her voice was eerie. The handmaiden named Swan nodded sadly as she crossed her wrists on her lap, watching her lady through the flowy white curtains. "It is indeed unfortunate, Sir Lunette would have been a great match with you, m'lady." She smiled as she looked through the flowy curtain, as the wind blew through it and it lifted piecely, she saw a glimpse of the young lady's black obsidian hair that was braided into a crown for the wedding. She felt breathless, her lady beautiful appearance left her feeling breathless, it always does.

The young lady smiled menacingly as she lifted the veil up and over her head, it rested softly on top of her black hair. She jumped forward and used her hand to pull the white curtain away a little as she took a glance at the footman. "Tell the driver we shall turn to the exam instead." She smiled happily with a tint of sinisterness as she leaned back, resting upon the carriage seat. The footman nodded as he informed the driver to lead the horses to the stadium. The windy breeze flowed through the window and brushed against her skin, it glowed as she brushed her loose hair back and the light reflected on her.
