“Father. Please don’t leave me. I love you” Princess Marie cried, holding onto her fathers hand tightly as he lay very ill in his bed. His eyes were shut and his breathing and heartbeat was slowing down.
“MARCUS! MARCUS!” She screamed as soon as she realized what was happening. Doctor Marcus ran into the room along with Duchess Adelaide, Marie’s mother.
“Father! Please!!” Marie sobbed as her mother slowly pulled her out of the room.
“No! I want to be next to Father. Please Mother!” Marie exclaimed trying to get out of her mothers hard grip.
“Marie, listen to me. Marcus is doing everything he can, but your father is extremely ill.” Adelaide reminded her. Marie continued crying into her mothers arms as Marcus came out of the room. The two women turned to look at Marcus in hope. Marcus bowed his head down,
“It was too late.”
