Chapter 2: New Beginnings, Same Shit

"That's when I moved away from here." She nodded slowly hearing what I said.

"Maybe that's the universe saying it's meant for us to meet." 

"Maybe." A small smile rose onto my face as I leaned back onto my hands, still looking at the girl who had a slight smile on her face as well. 

"I'm Mika by the way." She stuck her hand out for me to shake. 

"Y/n." I said back, taking her hand.

"So-" I was cut off before I could finish my sentence. 

"Y/n, please be quiet." Mrs. Applegate said looking over at Mika and I. 

"Mrs. Applegate, everyone and they mama talking in here and you call me out." I said back to her getting laughs from everyone in the class.

But I was deadasss serious. 

If you are going to call out one student for talking you gotta call them all out. 

"Go to the office." She pointed at the door and I got up and dusted off my pants. 

"Thank you." I said back to the woman, already having a feeling this was going to be a rough year in her class.

"I'll see you at the pep rally?" Mika asked as I bent down to grab my bookbag. 

"I don't know," I shrugged. "I'm not really the pep rally type." I said to the girl before I left the theater initially going to look for Rue and Lexi. But after five minutes I gave up. 

So I did what I do best. 

I made my way to my car, smoked and relaxed for a few before I made my way back into the school.

"You guys pumped?" The football coach yelled making everyone in the lunchroom cheer. "Are we gonna win?" He asked another question making people scream yes.

"Well let's hear it for your East Highland Black Hawks." He finished as the cheerleaders and football players ran down the stairs making the cafeteria get even louder.

"How was Maddy after I left?" I asked with my eyes locked on Maddy who was focused on doing the cheer routine. "Like did me leaving really affect her?" I specified what I meant to Rue who was staring at Jules.

"Yea..." She said like it was the most obvious thing. "I mean you kinda like took her virginity then dipped." Rue looked at me. "And you two were dating, even though I don't know if you count middle school relationships."

"They usually don't." Jules added in. "But since you two had sex it definitely counts." She pointed out as I hit my head on the table softly with a groan leaving my mouth.

"I gotta talk to her." I thought aloud.

"Good luck with that." Rue said.

"Why good luck?"

"Because she's dating Nate." 

"They're actually dating?" I asked ad Rue nodded her head. 

"They've been on and off for a few years now." It was now my turn to nod hearing the new information.

I figured they had something going on because of their behavior at the party towards each other, but I never thought they would date. 

They just didn't seem like each others type.

And I honestly thought Nate was gay. 

But I'm going off of information from 3 years ago and a lot could've changed since then.
