Chapter 2: New Beginnings, Same Shit

Nate was jealous.

Maddy was everything that he wanted in a girl. 

She had great posture, full lips, a thigh gap, and on top of that she was basically hairless. Maddy checked off everything on his list of wants and the only thing in his way was Y/n.

So as soon as Y/n left, Nate pounced on the opportunity of making Maddy his.

Nate was obsessive, his mother said he got it from his father.

But when he started to date Maddy it was like it kicked up a notch.

He knew the world was full of men who wanted to hurt Maddy.

Men who would hang out the windows of their cars and scream obscenities at her.

College guys who wouldn't think twice about drugging her.

Lonely guys who'd spot her at a mall.

Men who'd rape her, torture her, sell her into sexual slavery. He didn't like to think about that.

He did, however, like to think about the things he'd do to protect her.

Nate also liked the fact that Maddy was a virgin, which she wasn't Y/n had already taken her virginity. But Nate didn't have to know that.

Sometimes he imagined marrying and starting a family with Maddy.

But he knew if Y/n came back she wouldn't be as focused on him as he wanted. 

Even the thought of that angered him.

And he knew about his anger issues, but every guy had anger issues.

It's not like there was anything in his life he could trace it back to. It was just... 

Who he was and who he would always be.

First day of the school year and I'm already about to give up.

 There was no one in their right mind who would want to wake up at 6 in the damn morning to go sit with fake people and listen to boring teachers all day.

Back with my mom, she could care less if I skipped school, but knowing the difference between my dad and mom.

Seeing that I had overslept through my alarm, I hurriedly got out of bed and went to do my morning routine.

After finishing, I went to my closet to find an outfit. 

Deciding to be simple today I threw on a graphic tee, pairing it with some loose jeans.

Heading upstairs I grabbed a granola bar before exiting the house and getting into my car.

Arriving at school I hurried and parked before rushing to my first class which was theater. 

Knowing that I was already late, I didn't even rushing anymore I took my time getting to class, ultimately ending up being 15 minutes late.

"It's nice for you to join us Ms. Y/l/n, we are just getting started" The middle-aged woman said sarcastically as I sat down next to Lexi who was definitely shocked to see me.

"Anyways, back to what I was saying. I am Mrs. Applegate and welcome to Intro to theater." She paced back and forth across the stage. "So, let's start with a little improvisation. I'd like each of you to get up and tell us a five-minute story about your summer." She finished getting a groan from Rue who was next to Lexi.
