"What the-"he muttered, looking around frantically.

"Luke, you're wasting time!" I snarled angrily. "Where is she!" he quickly turned to face me, looking paler then should be healthy.

"She... she was right here!" he insisted, pointing right to where he was standing. I smacked him upside the head, not using my full strength; I didn't want to kill the punk.

"Well she isn't now!" I growled, pulling him to face me. "You just left her here, lying on the ground?" I was so angry; I felt my own wolf pushing up. I forced him down, knowing if I let him out, I would feel guilty for killing Luke later.

"Where is she!" I seethed, balling up the front of his shirt in my hands.

"I... I don't know! I'll find her!" he stumbled out. I let him go and he tripped backwards, leaning against the tree to steady himself.

"Sure as hell you will. You have thirty minutes to find her or else!" I roared. He shook slightly as my Alpha shone through but nodded and quickly bolted into the surrounding trees. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I flipped it open and dialed.

"Hello," Kane sighed into the phone, sounding as if it was unbearably pain to answer.

"Get Zack and get out here now. I'm on the trail." I snapped the phone shut, not even bothering to wait for a reply. I was his Alpha; he would listen no matter what.

And as soon as they showed up, they would listen as I sent them to search for my mate.

*Mallory*

The first thought on my mind was 'Great, I'm dying. Good bye cruel world.' But, of course, I wasn't that lucky. It seemed I wasn't meant to have a slow death.

After one pain full break, I dropped to my knees and curled into myself. I wrapped my arms around my stomach, letting out a choked cry when something else twisted. It dulled slightly, leaving my breathless.

So there I was, kneeled over while panting with my hands on my knees. I took a deep breath, ready to turn back to the infirmary when it hit me again; but worse.

I screamed as something else inside of me twisted, not breaking which was even more painful. I was kept in a constant state of pain as it remained in a tight knot. Another sharp pain had me jerking back, making my body bend in an unnatural pose.

And suddenly, the main string snapped. Before I blacked out from the intense pain, I heard a ghostly chuckle.

¨

When I did slowly start coming around, I instantly wanted to slink back into the dark. I hurt; everywhere. My arms felt like balloons that had been inflated only to pop abruptly. My legs... well they weren't much better. My stomach ached, serving as a memory of the intense pain I experienced. I remembered it all; it's not easy to forget something like that.

I told myself to push back the pain and oh so carefully, I peeked my eyes open. I got the surprise of my life when my gaze was met with trees... lots of trees. I lifted my head abruptly, causing an intense pain in my neck. With a groan, I started rolling my neck only to stop.

That groan of mine... wasn't mine. Meaning, it sounded nothing like me... or human. I froze, ignoring the ache in my neck, and took a deep breath through my nose.

I jerked slightly when new, sharp, and unfamiliar smells assaulted my senses. I sneezed from the impact... and yet again, it didn't sound human. I forced myself to stay calm on the outside while I was freaking out on the inside.

Slowly, I started to stand, only to collapse back to the ground. Screw slow and careful, I thought, I want to know what's wrong with me! Taking a deep breath, I looked down at my hands... er, paws. Wait, back up and push pause... Paws!

Damien had some explaining to do!

Tehehe, don't you just love me! XD
