It was later that night, and everyone had picked out their bunks. I got the top bunk, and a girl named Amy got the bottom. We got along well, and bonded over shared authors.
Lights out was 10 minutes ago, and our phones were confiscated with it.
I tossed and turned, thinking of what was to come of tomorrow.
"Hey, can you stop moving so much?"
Amy said.
"Yeah. Sorry."
"It's all good."
I laid still, sighing.
"Okay, what's on your mind?"
I let out a small laugh.
"Well, a lot actually."
"Like?"
"Problems. Problems at home."
There was silence, so I took that as giving her more detail.
"I sort of started something with a guy back home."
"What's so bad about that?"
"He's in my friend group."
Amy fake gasped.
"No way."
But it was true. I started something with Cesar, knowing what could happen in the end. Laying here now, all I can think of is the end.
"Well, do you like him?"
"I think, I think I may love him."
There was no reason to tell poor Amy this. But who could I confess that to back home? No one. Not my dad, not Ruby or Jamal.
No one.
No more then a few seconds later, the door abruptly opened.
"Girls, no talking after lights out."
"Sorry Ma'am."
She left, and I put my hands over my face.
I wish I could talk to Cesar.

a few days ago
"You make me feel so safe." I mumbled into Cesar's chest.
I could feel him smile into my hair.
"My only goal."
We entwined our hands and continued laying together.
I wish that I could stay like this, forever. To have him here with me, like there's nothing in the world that could come between us.
"I'm sorry but I have to get going." He said.
I sat up,
"So soon, why?"
"Just some stuff with my family is all."
He scratched his head, and grabbed his stuff.
I sat on the bed, waiting for him to leave.
He was about to go, when he looked back at me. He pulled me closer to him, and kissed me.
"I'll be back, okay?"
"Okay." I said, smiling softly.
I watched him go, and fell back into bed.
I didn't want to leave him, for almost the entire summer. This was the closest we've ever been.

hey guys it's lex! I'm sorry I haven't updated in so long, and that this is a short chapter. I'm finding difficulty in writing this story, but I'll keep trying :)
