The Day They Left

It was another day on the isle of the lost and 5 Vk's were tearing there way to the streets reeking havoc and chaos. They were, Mal daughter of Maleficent, Evie daughter of the Evil Queen, Jay son of Jafar, Carlos son of Cruella de Vil, and finally Cara daughter of Scar.

The five teenagers were singing their trademark song "Rotten to the Core", to remind those around that they were in charge, especially Uma and her pirate crew.

At the end of the song, Mal had stolen a lollipop off of a child, and the teens all laughed about it, when suddenly everybody else started running away screaming. This could only meant one thing, the arrival of Mal's mother Maleficent was imminent.

Cara's POV

While Mal was talking to her mother, Jay pulled me aside, and started giving me little kisses along my neck. We weren't dating, because people don't do that here on the isle, however we did have a relationship of sorts, it was more so casual hook ups and so. Nevertheless, Jay and I were still really close. He was there for me all the times that my father had gotten a bit too mad. I would never admit it out loud, but if we were anywhere but the Isle I would probably we open to the idea of actually dating Jay, but that is never gonna happen.

I pushed Jay away in mock annoyance, and he just smirked at me, wrapping his arm around my waist. This was something that Jay had always done, but it never failed to make me feel safe and secure ( a rare thing for anyone on the Isle).

"Oh I've got news, I've buried the lead" Maleficent announced suddenly turning to us. "You four have been chosen to go to a new school... in Auradon" she announced, pointing to Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, but not me. The latter three all made a run for it, while I just started to laugh, "Ha you guys have to go to school with princes and princesses" I found it hilarious, imagining my friends having to wear fancy clothes and following rules. But the more the news sunk in, the more I realized that I would be left here alone, defenseless, without a gang, and on the Isle that's a dangerous position to be in.

"Yeah I'm not going to a school full of prissy, pink princesses" Mal nodded pointing at me in agreement"

"And perfect princes" Evie butted in.

"Yeah and I don't do uniform, I'm more of a leather guy, ya feel me?" Jay added wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"Yeah and I've heard they allow dogs in Auradon, Mom says there rabid pack animals who eat naughty boys who don't behave"

Maleficent did not look please at all. I zoned out then lost in my own thoughts. I was going to be left behind, all alone, an outcast like my father.

I hadn't realised that everyone had left til Jay came  back and was pulling my arm telling me to come on.

                                                                  -----------------------------------------

"You will go to Auradon, and you will get me the fairy godmother's magic wand" Maleficent announced sitting in her throne-like chair.

"What's in it for us?" Mal asked pointing to the group of VK'S"

"Matching thrones, hers and hers crowns"

"I think she meant us" Carlos spoke up, with Mal agreeing.

"It's all about you and me Mal. Don't you enjoy making innocent people suffer."

"I mean yeah who doesn't"

"Well then get me the magic wand and if you don't your grounded for the rest of you life missy"

"Wha Mom!" Mal was cut off by her mother challenging her in a stare off. Mal lost. Again. "Fine, I'll do it".

While Maleficent got Mal her spell book and the Evil Queen gave Evie her magic mirror, Cara was in the corner of the room, with her father sharpening his claws. She couldn't bring herself to get involved in the conversation that was going on in the background. It seemed the only reason the villains were willing to let their free labor leave was so they could get their revenge on Auradon. In the mean time, Cara would take over all the jobs that her friends usually did for their parents. Scar noticed his daughter's mind was elsewhere and was slacking off. He grabbed his daughters wrist digging his nails into it, drawing a little blood.

"Get your head  out of the clouds girl, and focus!"

Cara finished up as quick as she could and went outside to say goodbye to her friends.

"Good luck guys" Cara spoke up coming up behind her friends. They all tuned around and gave her sympathetic looks.

"Cara, I wish you were coming with us, we could really use your help". Even though Mal was the leader of their group, Cara was the best at thinking on the spot. She could talk, fight, or worm her way out of almost any situation, making her an invaluable asset to their gang.

"It's fine, I believe in you guys, you can do it. Just get that wand and free us all, and we'll be back together in no time".

Mal and Evie pulled the young lioness into a hug. "We promise" they chimed, refusing to show anymore emotion. The girls shared a friendship that was rare on the Isle, and so they were making the most of their last few minutes together.

Cara then turned to Carlos. "Make sure to wear gloves if you ever have to go near my mothers bunions", Carlos warned her. "I'll keep that in mind", Cara refrained from laughing only form the disgust she felt, that that was her future. Not much more words were needed between the two, so, instead they did their secret handshake, which said more than words ever could. As the youngest two in the group, they had a special connection, it was almost as if their were brother and sister. No one would bother the shy boy, in fear of Cara's wrath, because she could be scary when she needed to be.

Lastly Cara turned to say goodbye to Jay. This was the goodbye she dreaded the most. She couldn't say goodbye to him. She knew that they weren't a couple so once he left Jay would more than likely set his sights on a beautiful princess over in Auradon. Jay brought his hand up to her cheek and rubbed his thumb on it. Before she could get two words out, he had pulled her into a desperate kiss. They had kissed plenty of times before, but this one was different. It wasn't just a fleeting kiss or a possessive one. It was a goodbye kiss. A thank you for everything kiss. A promise to be back kiss. When he pulled away, Jay hugged the girl for dear life, hiding his head in the crook of her neck, breathing in her scent.

After a minute he brought his mouth to her ear and whispered, "I don't know when I'll get to kiss you again, or hold you again, but I promise you this. I will get that wand and free you from your father. Maya be then I can take you on a proper date"

Cara was too shocked to speak. She had longed to hear him say those words for so long, and here he was finally doing so. She couldn't find her voice, so she just nodded slightly. Jay then placed a lingering kiss on her forehead before turning to join the rest of the group, their hands detangling themselves reluctantly.

Cara stood there looking at her friends climbing into the limo. She felt so helpless. Her friends were setting out on this quest to save them all, and she had to stay behind. That's when she had an idea. "Wait, wait hold up", Cara shouted to the Vk's. She ran over to the door of the link and peered in. She removed the piece of rope from around her neck, that had a black claw tied to it, and handed it to Jay. "Here take this, it may come in handy". The VK's looked at Cara shocked. She never took her claw necklace off. It was one of her most prized possessions. It could open any door, and Cara used it to mess with Uma and her crew all the time, and to help Jay steal things for his dad.

Jay took the necklace and hung it around his neck, before tucking it under his jacket. He daren't say it out loud, but he would cherish it.

"Thank you Cara, truly, I know how much it means to you. Just be careful of Uma and her pirates. No doubt she'll have it out for you now that your alone". Mal told her oldest friend. "I can handle Uma", Cara smirked. Of that she was confident. "After all cats eat fish for breakfast". The group laughed at that, knowing all to well that it was true.

"Excuse me miss bit you're going to have to get out of the way", the limo driver gruffly spoke from behind her. Cara have one last smile to her friends before standing back and closing the door.

10 minutes later the square was clear except for one girl standing and staring out at Auradon. Only time would tell whether she would maintain her desire to see them again.
