"You get it!" I shouted, pointing at him.

"You lost it!" Jay, my older brother, shouted back. We had been playing swords and my mother's bracelet had flown over the gate. I knew she wouldn't be happy, but I didn't want to go get it. My mom was always strict about going beyond the junkyard gate. I didn't know why. We lived out in the middle of nowhere. I was also only five years old at the time. Jay was twelve.

"You made me lose it!" I had accused.

"As if!" Jay had shot back.

I finally gave in, "Fine!"

I stormed off towards the gate opening. I'd glanced around to make sure my parents weren't looking before I rushed out of the gate. I looked around before spotting the silver gleam on the ground. I quickly walked over and knelt down to grab it. It was near a pile of junk that was trash we would take out later.

I reached out to grab it and I barely saw the red eyes before it shot out and I felt a sharp pain on my wrist. I looked down to see two glowing red dots. The large green snake slithered away quickly and dizziness overcame me. I collapsed and darkness filled my vision.

"Hurry up, Em!" Lloyd shouted back at me. I laughed and picked up speed to catch up to him, my dirty blonde hair blowing back in the breeze as we ran through Jamanaki village. I was dressed in sweatpants and a black hoodie.

He slowed down to a walk, slightly panting. I stopped with him and looked over to him. His blonde hair hid under the hood of the black hoodie he wore with a painted-on skeleton ribcage and the number six.

It had been 3 years since then. After I was bitten, I left my home. Yup, I was five years old and I ran away. Whatever snake bit me, whatever its name was, its venom did something to me. I felt so... dark. Evil. I blamed Jay and took off.

I had found Lloyd Garmadon a few weeks later. A little boy, only two years older than me. I was 8 now and Lloyd was 10. Wherever Jay was, he was 15 now. Did I still blame him? Yep.

Lloyd had been dropped off as a child at Darkley's School for Bad Boys. It was a school that basically taught you to be an evil mastermind. Lloyd's father was Lord Garmadon. Apparently, a really evil guy, who was gone now. His mother was the one who left him at Darkley's. He had escaped multiple times. One of them is how I met him. When he was caught and returned to the school, I followed. I forced my way in, which was pretty easy. There, I had learned what snake bit me. The Great Devourer. Its venom turned you evil. Lord Garmadon was also bitten by the same snake. I hated having this dumb bite on my wrist. I hated being such a dark and evil person. But I loved having Lloyd as a best friend.

"You know, one of these times it's not gonna work," I pointed out, looking up at him. I was about to his nose in height. Lloyd looked down at me and cocked his head to the side curiously, "I'm just saying, not everyone is gonna believe that a ten-year-old boy has that kind of voice."

"It seems to be working fine now. People should be afraid of me without using your voice! I'm the son of the dark lord!" Lloyd whined, throwing his hands up.

I sighed, "I'll go hide."

I ran off to hide behind a building. I glanced around the corner to see Lloyd approaching the fountain where we would always do this. His shadow was growing on the side of the mountain as he walked, causing some people to run into their houses in fear. Lloyd started his evil laugh, which was honestly adorable.

"It is I! Lloyd Garmadon! I demand all the candy in town or else!" Lloyd yelled as he jumped on the side of the fountain, the people began walking towards him, amusement on their faces. He looked at me with worry, I sighed and spoke in my best demonic voice, "Give me all the candy in town or you'll regret it!" As I say it, Lloyd opens his mouth and mouthes the words. I don't know where I got the voice, but it's fun to use. The people began backing away.
