Talking with Finnegan really helped getting his mind off of things sometimes. It seemed as though he had no care in the world and with time that mindset proceeded to pass on to Sean as well.

After two hours of gossiping about the nurses and drooling after attractive doctors, he had forgotten all about the accident. And even though his vision had narrowed down a little, the difference was not that drastic in the end. It was nothing he wouldn't be able to get used to.

He couldn't help but think about the fact that he would have to dress up as a pirate for the rest of his life if he didn't want anyone to see the state of his eye. It was rather hilarious, however.

When he mentioned about it to Finn, he only laughed it off. Sean couldn't help but notice a hint of sadness in his tone.

He began wondering if Finn had had something to do with the accident. Sean wanted to tell him it was okay, but he was hesitant and couldn't bring himself to say anything about it. He couldn't remember anything about it anyway.

Or perhaps Finn simply felt guilty for teaching Daniel how to throw knives to begin with.

Sean should have probably felt a little more upset about losing an eye, but he found himself rather fine with the accident. "It's kinda cool, though," Sean told him.

Finn chuckled. "Maybe I should start callin' you Scarface."

The light attitude was very helpful with accepting what happened. He was thankful for it.

As much as Sean tried to cast his thirst aside for the past hours, it kept coming back to him. He licked the edges of his dry lips and cast a look at Finn, who immediately got the hint that was handed to him.

"Lemme get you somethin' to drink. You must be dreadin' for some juice," Finn stood up on his heels and turned to walk towards the door.

Sean couldn't mutter another word before the brunette was already out of the door and in the hallways, making his way towards what was possibly a vending machine.

He started imagining a scenario where the drinks would get stuck in the vending machine and Finn would have a rather hilarious conversation with the inanimate object.

"Hand 'em over before I flip out my jujitsu cards and smack you into obedience," Finn would most likely insist.

Sean chuckled to himself. Finn was surely an amusing guy.

He was grateful for having him around, however. Under all those layers of silly attitude and grudge against the world, Finn really seemed to be worried for him and continued to pamper Sean like a helpless infant.

It was rather cute, actually. Sean couldn't help wondering if this was how he treated everyone he cared about. A tiny voice inside of him was hoping that it was reserved just for him, however.

The doorknob twitched, and for a second Sean thought Finn had legitimately dashed in the hallway to get a drink as fast as possible. He might have even tripped on his way. To him, Sean would be in grave danger if he left him out of his sight for more than five minutes, so every second counted.

But instead of Finn and the load of drinks he was expecting, Sean was greeted by Cassidy, who was quite shocked to see him awake and sitting up.

"Sean! I see you've woken up," she exclaimed and quickly shut the door behind her.

She found her way on the chair next to his bed, which Finn had previously occupied.

"Yeah, I'm back in the game again," Sean replied with joy. He was truly glad to see Cassidy again, despite missing Finn already. It has only been two minutes, he comforted himself.
