Adventure

Adventure,

Pavement waves the way for new beginnings

6,000 heartbeats per hour

No time to stop and settle blood.

Wanderlust until my heart runs out of gass,

Sputtering spitting coughing,

Creaking to a halt.

Stopping in a place where nothing can ruin a moment,

Where moments are spread like salt on the road,

Crunching under the wheels as we wind on.

Nevermind the curves and winds,

Evert turn falls far behind when ther's another memory around the bend.

Another memory of radiostatic,

Another memory of cold-car,

Another night of backseat blankets and all our dreams together.

All my dreams at once in the back seat of a cold car,

Corrosive silence or the purr of ignition.

Another day with one hand on the steering wheel and the other laced in your hand.

The warm breeze bathing us in dust,

Dousing us in sensation- washing away the roads we've past.

Adventure is eyes straight forward- never downcast,

You and I are moments, never slow nor fast
