"Talaga?" Sarah asked shyly. Then she bursted into laughter. Her eyes disappeared as she laughed. "Tinawanan lang pag-mamahal ko. Kita mo toh," Remy said as she laughed with her. Remy laughed again. "Hay, note to self: do not declare love for Sarah G. She will only laugh at you," Remy said. "Hoy, Remy. Remy looked away as she smiled. She felt like she was going to die from the giddiness she was feeling inside. "Ayeee! Yan tayo eh. Kinikilig ka nanaman. Uuuuy, kinikilig," Sarah teased as she grinned at Remy. Remy looked at her and shook her head as she and Sarah continued to laugh. "Hoy Sarah Geronimo, utang na loob. Please lang. For the sake of my remaining sanity in this island. Nakakamatay yang—yang ano mo eh," Remy said. Sarah laughed even harder. "Yung ano ko?" Sarah asked as she tried to stop herself from laughing even more. She was eager to find out the rest of what Remy was going to say. "Yang tingin mo po. Napaka-deadly. Naku, single pa naman ako ngayon so 'wag mokong inaano dyan, ate. Baka hindi ako makapagpigil," Remy said. Sarah laughed even harder. "Halika na nga, ano ano ng pinagsasabi mo dyan eh," she said as she rolled up her pants. "Eh ikaw kasi e," Remy said. Then she looked at what Sarah was doing. "Anong ginagawa mo ate?" She  asked. "Teka, bakit ikaw? The current is pretty strong, you're too skinny. Baka madala ka kung san san," Remy said worriedly. "Eto naman kung maka-skinny eh. Hindi naman siguro. Payat ako pero mabigat ako kasi puro buto buto ako," Sarah said. "Ate no, it's too dangerous. Baka masugat pa mga paa mo," Remy argued. Remy whined. "Ate no, the current is too strong. Can I at least try to use my spear first to test how deep it is?" Remy suggested, but Sarah shook her head. "Importante yang spear na yan Remy, magagamit natin yan. Baka maanod pa yan," Sarah said. Please let me try and use the spear first before you go in the water. Ikaw na nag-sabi, I can't swim so pano kita isisave kung anorin ka ng tubig?" Remy reasoned. "Yes! Thank you," Remy said in relief as she stood up and took the wooden spear in her hand. Sarah watched as she lowered it carefully into the stream. About two-feet deep later, Remy felt the bottom of the stream. She pushed the spear down even more to make sure it wasn't just a rock she hit. "Confirmed. Mga two-feet deep lang yata sya ate if I'm not mistaken," Remy said as she pulled the spear up. "That's good, pwede tayo mag-wade in and mag-fishing dyan. Ano na gusto mo gawin ngayon?" Sarah asked. "I say we find whatever we can use lalo na yung pang-storage natin ng water habang may araw pa. Sarah asked. Remy looked around. "The ground is moist ate, I'm not sure if we can build a fire here. If we can manage to build a fire, okay lang. That would keep whatever animals away from us while we sleep. It would also serve as a light kasi ang dilim dilim dito sa forest sa gabi. Ang dami nga lang moisture kasi we're surrounded by so much trees and plants. We probably need to make a shelter big enough to keep us both inside and also the fire para di ma-put out ng moisture. That fire will keep us warm, too. Mukhang malamig dito sa gabi eh," Remy explained. Sarah nodded. She was impressed with Remy's knowledge. I forgot we haven't even laid out the stones sa shore to spell "S.O.S" and "HELP". Mamaya nyan madami ng dumaang plane. Sayang naman. Yun dapat inuna natin eh," Remy said. Sarah looked at Remy. She figured she was right. Sarah asked. "Umm," Remy said as she looked around. Then she looked at Sarah who was waiting for an answer. Babalik naman ako kaagad eh," Remy said. "Eh," Sarah started, but Remy saw the look in her eyes that told Remy she didn't want to be left alone. "It's okay. We can go together," Remy said. Sarah smiled. "Thank you Remy," Sarah said as she walked towards her. "Sure, sure. My pleasure idol," Remy teased. Sarah let out a laugh as the two of them made their way towards the shore.
