Chapter 5

Shit, shit, shit. I am not going over there, no way in the world. I called Will and told him, so he came over. I felt guilty to pull Will into my situation, but I was scared. I had no idea what to do. I wanted to break up with him, but I knew there would be consequences.

"Will. I want to break up with him, but I'm scared." I said while holding back tears.

"It'll be ok. He won't hurt you anymore." He said while rubbing my back. "We should call the cops."

I looked up at him and shook my head furiously. "No! No, we can't." I said while crying.

"Ok, ok. We won't call the cops, but I don't want you going near him. Stay by me, and do not go to his house anymore. Ok?" he said while staring into my eyes.

I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder. It felt nice to be in Will's arms. I could feel his muscles under his shirt.

"What should I tell him?" I asked into his chest. I hated feeling like this.

"Nothing. Don't respond." He said. I nodded. "I want to show you something."

He led me to his house, and I said a quick hello to his parents. We went upstairs to what I was assuming, his room. It was dark blue and it was surprisingly clean for a teenager's room. I was about to ask what he wanted to show me when he led me to another door.

"A closet?" I asked confused.

He laughed and shook his head. He opened the door, and I saw a flight of stairs. I was still confused, but I followed him up the steps. I saw a huge room with a bunch of easels and canvases.

"This is my art studio." He said while rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's amazing." I said in awe. I started to look at some of the paintings on the walls. "These are awesome. I wish I could paint like that."

"Yeah, I love to paint. When my parents told me about the room, I was excited that I would actually have a space to do it, instead of the garage." He said while standing behind me as I looked at his work.

I walked up to one of the easels that had an unfinished painting on it. It was a landscape of a mountain that looked so good, I would have thought it was a picture.

"Wow." Was all I managed to say.

He sat on the stool in front of the easel and began another painting. I sat on a stool in front of the easel as I continued to look like an idiot. I was in total awe looking at everything that I wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying. After a little bit I heard him cleaning his brushes.

"You done?" I asked.

"Mhm." He responded while walking back to me.

I walked in front of the easel to see the canvas. It was a painting of me. He made me look beautiful. A lot more beautiful than I ever thought I was.

"I look beautiful." I said while still looking at the canvas.

"That's because you are." He said while wrapping his arms around my waist. "You can have it once it dries."

"Thank you." I said while giving him a hug. "So what do you wanna do?"

"Doesn't matter. It's ten o'clock though. Maybe you should go home. You've had a long week." He said with a sad smile.

I was reluctant to leave him, but I knew he was right. "Ok. I'll pick you up tomorrow, so we can go to school." I said while hugging him. He showed me out his door.

"Call me if you need anything." He said. I nodded and left. I knew I wasn't going to call him, no matter what. I know he wants to help, but I still felt really bad that I was bringing him into all my crap. I jumped into bed and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to my alarm. I slammed it off and got ready. I decided to straighten my hair today. Once I finished, I went over to Will's. He was sitting on his porch waiting for me. As soon as he saw me, he ran to the car.

"Hey tonight, I think we should go bowling. I haven't been there in a while." I told him hoping he would say yes.

"Yeah, that sounds great," he said.

I was happy for once. In the past year that I had been dating Jace, I had felt like shit every day, but with Will, I felt special. He was sweet, and even though I just met him, I knew that he cared for me.

The day went by without any drama. I saw Jace, but I quickly avoided him. I took Will home and told him I would go to his house, so we could go bowling.

I was excited. It wasn't really a date, but it felt like one. I put on jean shorts, and a blue shirt. I wanted to be comfy while bowling, but that didn't mean I had to look like crap. I reapplied my makeup and fixed my hair. I was about to walk out the front door, when it rang.

Oh, shit, I hope it's not Jace, I thought. When I opened it, I saw Will standing there. I relaxed, and I looked at his outfit. He was wearing dark jeans and a red shirt that you could see his muscles.

"I think it's the boy's job to pick up for a date." He said as he gently pulled my arm. My heart fluttered. He thought this was a date.

"Alright let's go." I said as I led the way to the bowling alley. It wasn't that far, so we decided that we would walk.

We got to the bowling alley, and we rented our shoes and the lane. Will tried to pay for me, but I wouldn't allow it. I loved bowling.

"Wanna make a bet?" I asked him. "I'm not that good."

"Sure, what's the bet?" he smiled.

"Hmmm, well if I win you have to take me out again, and if you win, you can do whatever you want." I said. Man I really sucked at making bets.

"K, so if I win, I get to kiss you goodnight." He said while stepping closer to me.

I nodded. Damn him, I wanted to win, but now I'm not so sure. I was up first, and I bowled a strike. I walked over to him with a smirk on my face. He grabbed his ball and did the same. Shit, this was going to be close, I thought.

In the end, I "accidentally" got a gutter ball, so Will won. I was actually happy that he won.

"Let's get you home, so I can give you that kiss." He murmured into my hair.

I nodded and took his hand to walk home. We were almost home when someone confronted us. It was late, so I couldn't tell who it was until he spoke.
