28. I Love Him

Anyway, as soon as we arrived at prom I got practically surrounded by most of the guys, some even left their dates, which resulted in me losing Stella and Asher.

"Amelia, I love your dress"

"Amelia, I love your hair"

"Amelia, You look hot"

I tuned the rest of everything they said out when I landed my eyes on Emma. She was glaring at me from the snack table.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back" I say to the group of boys as I slip by them and walk to her.

It's not like I have anyone to talk to since most of the females hate me because their dates won't stop gawking at me.

When I reach her I give her a genuine smile which causes her glare to turn into a look of confusion.

"What do you want?" She asks not rudely but not nicely either

"I just want to talk" I say honestly

I just want to get behind the reason why she hates me since I don't remember doing anything rude or evil to her.

"Okay?" She says skeptically

I don't blame her. I would be skeptical too if the person I despise the most asked me to talk.

"I just want the honest answer," I say which makes her nod her head as if saying 'continue'

"Why do you hate me so much?" I ask her which causes her breath to hitch in surprise since I guess she wasn't expecting me to say that. She looks around us before turning back to me.

"It's not safe to talk here" she says before she grabs my wrist and drags me to the girls locker room.

Her answer can't possibly be that bad.

Can't it?

When we're safely inside the locker room she looks at me with an emotionless expression before she sighs and sits down.

"It was the first day of school, I saw you at your locker and was immediately attracted to you. The way you looked cute, but hot. The way you moved so gracefully. You were mesmerizing" she says which makes my eyes widen and my cheeks redden since I didn't think anyone was watching me that morning

"Then suddenly I hear someone yell your name before you're both hugging. You both looked so close, almost like you were lovers, but that thought was quickly shut down when I saw the way you and Easton stared at each other later that same morning." She says before she looks down at the floor and continues while I just look at her with shock evident on my face

"I was jealous. I wanted to make you mine, but I knew that would never happen. When I saw you in gym class and lunch I wanted to get closer to you, but I didn't want to make it obvious and end up scaring you away" she says with a weak voice which makes me frown

I feel so sorry for her.

"When you tried out for cheerleading, I was very impressed with your tryouts and I thought that since you're as experienced as me, I could make you co captain which also meant that we would spend more time together" she says which makes me look at her with a confused look

She really thought this through.

"When I saw that you and Easton were getting closer I got jealous, so I wanted to break you guys up. So I used Stella to do it since I know that he's protective over her." She says with a sad expression

"When he started to ignore you I used it as my chance to get closer to you which inevitably failed" she says with a sarcastic laugh that makes me smile
