I finished my last class for the day, thankful that it ended half an hour early, instead of lasting the entire two hours. As I headed off campus towards the bus stop so I could get home and shower, a horn sounded loudly, making my snap my head backward to see who really had me bent this good Friday evening.

"Why you walking, ugly?" I heard the familiar voice as the car inched closer, revealing my best male friend, Junior. Or Julian, that's his real name, anyway.

"Man, Juju, get your aggravating ass on. You know I hate that honking shit, stupid." I complained, as he hopped out of his black Dodge Charger.

"Hello to you too, Mo. I was gon' take you home, why you walkin'? Yo' class ended early huh?" he asked me, reaching to pick something off my face. I swatted his hand away and nodded briefly.

"Yeah, professor J was having Braxton Hicks real bad, so she kicked our ass out early" I spoke, referring to my heavily pregnant women's studies professor. I only had class once a week now since I was so close to graduating, and it was a blessing I got out early.

"Well why you ain't call me, Morgan?" he asked, seriously. He hated that I rode the bus everywhere when he was always willing to drive me around everywhere I needed to go.

"Because, Julian," he cut me off, staring at me with a mug on his face.

"Chill out, Mo. Stop calling me that, damn." He rolled his eyes as did I. His mother named his ass Julian and I will call him Julian, too.

"Whatever, Ju. I didn't call you because you're a grown ass man with grown ass business to attend to that doesn't always involve me, you not obligated to take me nowhere." I repeated, as I did every time he complained to me about never asking him for rides, or food, or anything for that matter. He's my friend and I don't like taking advantage of my friends.

"Man, Nuni" he began, calling me by my childhood nickname, "Shut that shit up. What the hell I always tell yo ass? You my family, dawg. I'm not 'bout to have you outchea' strugglin' when I can easily help you out. So get yo stubborn tail in the car" he said, clearly annoyed with me, leaving no room for responding as he popped my door open.

I sighed dejectedly and took a seat ok the passenger side of the car. He shut the door and came jogging around to the other side.

"Where you was going?" he asked me, pulling out of our school's parking lot.

"Boog has a game at 6," I spoke, pulling my gold iPhone 7 from my back pocket. "I need to change, and meet Kiki. You ca' just drop me off at my mama house," I said quietly, not wanting to go to her house at all, but a good amount of my stuff was still there, plus I had to talk to her about something.

"Ya mama? Nah, Mo, why you going over there? You got clothes over Kiki house don't you?" he asked me, licking over his bottom lip, heading in the direction of my best friend Kionni's house.
