Third person P.O.V
Roman practically threw open his front door right after he got his shoes on and rushed out onto the sidewalk. He was almost running as he made his way down the street to the park.
I'm finally meeting Virgil! It's happening! Oh my god!!!!!!!
He couldn't wipe the smile off his face as he got closer and closer. The walk seemed longer than usual because he knew what was coming, but everything seemed to speed back up as he saw the tops of the trees that lined the popular park. He started laughing as he broke out into a full sprint and ran into the park. He knew Virgil wouldn't be there for a little longer, but he was still so excited.
He sat down on a bench in the park once he got there and started bouncing his leg anxiously. He couldn't take this, he couldn't just sit and wait, he had to get up and do something.
That's it! I'll go get us Starbucks
Roman: Vee, what do you want from Starbucks?
Virgil jumped as his phone went off in his pocket. He quickly grabbed it out, carefully walking down the sidewalk a little slower as he tried not to bump into anyone.
What? Why is he getting Starbucks?
Virgil: Why are you getting Starbucks?
Roman:...
Virgil giggles softly. He said the park was only 10 minutes away, he was probably already there and anxious.
Virgil: Are you already there?
Roman: yeah I'm already at the park.... but sitting and waiting for you is making me to anxious, I have to do something , so what do you want?
Virgil smiled adoringly at his phone. How did he get so lucky to have Roman text him that one day, and have him want to continue to talk? He really didn't deserve it.
Virgil: just an ice coffee, no milk or anything, thnx xx
Roman: You drink black? You witch, but no problem xx can't wait to see you
Virgil: I can't wait either
Virgil hadn't stopped smiling since he left his house, and his face was starting to hurt.
I'm finally going to see him!
He saw the tops of the trees that were all around the park and instantly picked up his pace, stuffing his phone back into his pocket.
Roman walked into the Starbucks that was across the street from the park. There was luckily no line so he walked up to the counter and placed their orders.
"One iced coffee, no milk, and one caramel granita, both venti please"
(Forgive me I know nothing about Starbucks, I had to google this stuff)
The cashier gave him his price, he paid and walked down the counter to wait for the drinks. He gazed out the big windows that lined the wall. He could see the park clearly from here. He started thinking about how Virgil should be there any minute, and started instantly smiling, having to cover his mouth to refrain from laughing like an idiot. He watched the few white clouds that lined the sky and tried to calm down a little bit, feeling the adrenaline start biting at his heart and speed up his breathing. They were lucky to have picked today to meet, the weather was absolutely perfect, not to hot, not to cold, it wasn't raining or windy, it was just perfect. He saw someone quickly walking down the sidewalk from the corner of his eye, and his attention was instantly dragged to them. When he saw the purple fringe and the purple t-shirt that he always wears, everything seemed to go into slow motion.
He's right there. That's Virgil. That's the boy I've been dying to meet since we started talking!
"Sir? Your drinks are ready"
Roman snapped out of his trance and quickly grabbed his drinks, muttering a soft thank you before rushing out of the building and across the street. He snuck up behind Virgil with a small smirk and set the drinks down on a bench before wrapping his arms around Virgil's torso, whispering 'boo' right into his ear. Virgil yelped and whipped around, before laughing and hugging Roman back ten times tighter. They both broke out into a laughing fit as they hugged each other desperately, taking in the feeling and cherishing it. They calmed down, still hugging tightly but not laughing so much.
"Oh my god. Oh my god! You're real, you're really here in-front of me, I'm really hugging you!"
Virgils rambling was muffled by Romans shirt. Roman giggled, one of his hands moving up to Virgil's hair, messing with it slightly.
"I can't believe that you're actually here Virg, I never thought I'd ever meet you, god it feels so good to finally be able to hug you like I've wanted to this entire time"
The two boys hurried their faces in the others shoulders. Roman felt comfortable and calm in Virgil's arms, taking in the softness of his shirt and his hair and how much of a gentle feeling Virgil gave off. They softly swayed back and forth for a second before they pulled away. Neither of them wanted to, but at the same time they wanted to be able to see the others face and finally take it in. As they did so, something clicked in both of their minds.
"Oh my god... you're the kid I bumped into in the hallway! I knew you looked familiar!
Roman smiled brightly, but it quickly faded as he saw Virgil's sad expression.
"You're the one who stood up for me..."
Roman felt his heart start beating faster as he saw Virgil tearing up.
"Hey hey hey what's wrong? Did I do something wrong?"
Virgil sniffed slightly and wiped his eyes, smiling softly.
"N-no just... thank you Ro, I'm sorry that you had to see that in the bathroom..."
Virgil looked down and rubbed his eyes. Roman felt his heart ache as he heard Virgil apologize. It isn't his fault why is he saying sorry? He frowned when he tilted his head down, and moved his hand gently to his chin, tilting it back up to look up at him.
"You don't have to thank me or apologize my little storm cloud, you didn't do anything, it wasn't your fault at all..."
Virgil's face turned a soft shade of red as he held Romans gaze. He quickly tore his eyes away and looked anywhere but him, pulling his head back from Romans hand, just to have it move to catch him again just as softly as the first time.
"Hey, look at me Vee"
He tensed up at Romans time, but looked back into his eyes non the less. He relaxed when he saw a soft smile of Romans face, and couldn't help but smile softly back. Roman dropped his hand from his chin, wiped the tears off of his cheek softly and brought both his hands to his waist.
"Let's just have a good time today, alright? I just want to spend time with you"
Virgil smiled even wider and softly nodded.
Roman smiled back.
Virgil took note of the way the corner of his eyes crinkled up when he smiled like that, and took a mental picture of the boy in-front of him.
He felt himself slipping into deep thought as he watched him, admiring the way a few strands of hair fell on to his forehead away from the rest of it that was parted back and up slightly, he admired his straight posture, his defined jaw, the little crown that was on the shoulder of his shirt, his soft pink lips that curled perfectly when he smiled, god he really liked his smile.
He was quickly brought out of his trance when he felt Roman move his hair off his forehead and his soft lips press against the skin in a soft kiss.
Roman smiled brightly at Virgil and watched as a lost look spilled over his eyes. He seemed to be in a trance like state for a minute, and Romans face started quickly heating up as he watched his eyes slowly trailed to his shoulder where the little crown was, back up to his lips. He had an idea of how to get Virgil's attention back, leaning forward and placing a soft kiss to his forehead after moving the hair away gently. He smiled when he saw Virgil's face turn bright red, giggling slightly at his shocked face.
"W-What was that for?"
"You were in some sort of trance, you kept starring at me and I had to get your attention somehow"
Virgil looked down sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"S-sorry"
"No need to be, oh! I got you your coffee, here"
Roman grabbed their drinks and handed the iced coffee to Virgil, before grabbed his free hand and lacing their fingers together.
"Now let's go walk around, shall we?"
Virgil giggled softly, his face still slightly red as he took a sip of his drink.
"We shall Princy"
