"Doctor uhh—maybe we could take this in the TARDIS?" suggested Yaz.
"Yaz why don't you and the lads get into the TARDIS? Seems my daughter and I need to have a bit of a chat." I glared at her; my breathing deepened. Yaz nodded and escorted the lads away. Graham came up and said to her,
"Go easy on her Doctor. I've been in this situation with Ryan before, try not to get too angry with her." He then walked away and soon we were both left alone out in the middle of the field.
"Do you want to explain to me why you did what you did?" she asked me.
"I don't have to explain to you." I sneered.
"Well I demand an explanation anyway. You could've been killed. You deliberately disobeyed me! And do you know what's worse? You could've put Princess Elizabeth in danger!"
"You think I don't know that?"
"Well it seems like you didn't. (Y/n) this is why we stick together as a team. This is why I don't allow you to go solo on your own because you can't seem to fight anything without causing trouble!"
"You used to allow me out on solo missions all the time!"
"Times have changed. I see now that that was irresponsible of me. From now on you're not allowed to go anywhere without me by your side. And I'm taking your time jumper."
"What?! That's not fair!"
"I'm doing this for your own good...."
"No you're not!" I snapped at her. "Ever since your miracle regenerations you've changed completely. I have been there with you since the beginning, you've always allowed me to have the freedom to do what I wanted so long as it was for the galaxies best interest but now you hardly let me out at all. If I hadn't come here then there would be no Elizabeth the 1st! You're always hovering over me like a parasite and I'm sick of it! I hate you! I wish you had died instead of becoming this!" I then raced off and came into the TARDIS.
"Should we—" Ryan started but one glare at him made him shut up as I went to my room and slammed my door hard and loud as tears welled up in my eyes. I raced over to my bed and collapsed into it and wept into my pillow.
I don't know how long it was before I heard a soft knock at the door and I heard her voice say.
"Hey love," I sniffled and turned away from her. I felt my bed dip and she continued, "I'm sorry. It's just that—ever since the change there's a whole new perspective on parenting that I've never experienced. And in my previous life I let you down so many times I guess in this new body I—I just wanted to keep you safe. But I guess all I did was make you despise me." I sighed heavily and sat up and said.
"I didn't use that word."
"You know I know when you say something you actually mean it a different way. I know my girl too well."
"If anyone should be apologizing its me." I admitted. "It's just that—you had told me your whole life, through every regenerations that we can only live up to 12 life spans, then by the end of it all it was over. But seeing you like this it just.....took me by a huge surprise. I'll admit some of your parenting now sucks like not letting me go out with you in the field." She softly smiled but I continued, "But I was ready to say goodbye to you, now that this has happened.....how do we know how many lives you can fully extent to before you finally reach your limit? Not knowing—it scares me dad." She stroked my hair out of my face and said.
"I know. I've never even heard of something like this before either, if I had you know I would tell you about it, right?" I nodded as tears kept slipping down my face every now and then. She gently wiped them away as she continued, "But I can tell you this, when the day does come, I know that the galaxy will be safe because it's being protected by the strongest woman I know. And I am honored and proud to call that woman my daughter." I smiled at her and said.
"But until then, it's got one other badass woman defending the earth till my time comes." She grinned at me and for the first time since the regeneration, we both hugged each other tightly.
"I love you my darling." She whispered.
"I love you too....." I paused before I had to say, "God I really wanna say dad but I can't because now it's just too weird." We both laughed softly as we separated and I continued on, "It's definitely gonna take some getting use to."
"Don't worry, we'll work on it together. But now I know how you felt going through all those Victorian ages when it came to the men."
"I know right!?" We both smiled and embraced each other once more. Yeah it'll take some time to get used to this new face, and with the future uncertain on how many lives she'll live now, but like she once said a few stages ago, "The future is not set in stone. And have the fun is not knowing what lies ahead."
