Orphanage Life

Hey guys, My name is Juliette Hoffman. Middle name is hyphenated and that is Lee-Anne. I'm 16 and I only have a couple years left before I have to leave because I'll legally be an adult. My mom was a single mom and thats how I ended up here. She wanted me to have a better life, a life she couldn't give me. I know she loves me because she wrote a letter for me to open everyday on my birthday until I'm 18. With every letter shes always talking about how my dad abandoned us before i was born and that she loves me so much and giving me up was the hardest decision she ever had to make she even gave me a picture so I know what she looks like. My moms name is Jasmine Hoffman she was 16 when she had me. My dads name is Greg Morris he was 17 when my mom was 15 which is when she got pregnant for me but she had me at 16. I hold no grudges and I've come to accept that what happened was for the best. I have brown hair and hazel blue eyes like my mom. I'm tall like my dad. I'm 5'7. Your probably wondering if I ever tried to look for them. I didn't I was told at 10 that my mother and father are both dead. My mom had a heart problem and my dad drank himself to death.

"Julie please come downstairs sweetie, theres someone here for you" Mrs Castillo yells from downstairs.

"Coming Mrs. Castillo" I shout back

I walk downstairs and see a young man about 26 standing there and when he sees me he gives me a smile. 

"Yes Mrs Castillo" I ask politely

"Sweetheart, this is Ellington Ratliff. He wants to adopt you sweet girl" she says smiling and all excited. 

Shes not happy to get rid of me shes happy that someone finally wants to adopt an older child. It's harder for older kids to get adopted but it looks like today is my day. 

"well hi there Juliette, are you ready to become part of my family and be my daughter" Ellington asks with hope in his eyes.

I give him a big hug and run upstairs to pack my stuff. I pack my suitcase that has my journal, my letters from my birth mom and hygiene products and the little clothes I have. Oh and of course I bring my keyboard. I love to play piano so  when I turned 8 Mrs. Castillo bought me one.  I walk my stuff downstairs and Mrs Castillo brings it to Ellington I mean my new dads car. She comes back and gives me the worlds biggest hug mixed with some tears.

"I am so happy for you sweet girl, I love you and I hope you have one of the best lives the world has to offer Juliette. Take care" she says standing back up.

"Goodbye Mrs. Castillo, I'll miss you too. 

I walk with my new dad to the car.

"are you hungry Jules" he asks as we get in. 

" A little bit" I say starting to feel a bit shy all of a sudden. 

We drive to Dairy queen order some lunch and then get some dessert. Once were done we head to what I'm assuming is my new home.

Ellington's POV

I am so excited for today. I am taking a huge step in my life. I am adopting a kid today. I want a girl who is between 12 and 16. No reason in particular but most older kids don't get homes because people want baby's and I want a child to see no matter how old you are somebody want's you. My girlfriend is so excited to have a kid in the house to spoil. 

Once I get to the Orphanage I meet with the head woman Mrs. Castillo she gives me a binder with the pictures and back stories of all the kids. I run across a 16 year old girl who has the most beautiful eyes and brunette hair. Her name is Juliette Lee-Anne Hoffman. Her mom was a single mom and couldn't give Julie the life she deserved. The dad left and they both died when she was 10. 

I want this girl to feel so loved, so safe, and so cared for living with me and my girlfriend Rydel. Once I sign the papers she is now legally mine. I decide to take her for lunch at dairy queen. Lunch and dessert at the same time and then I head home with her to start our new adventures.

Rydels POV

Oh my god I can't wait until my new daughter is here. Ellington should be home shortly with her. Not even 2 second after saying that I watch his car pull into the driveway. I run outside and to the car I am just so excited I can't wait.

"Omg I can't believe you are here!" I squeal. 

"are you my new mom" Julie says.

"Ia m baby girl. I am so excited your here" I give her a big hug and kiss on the forehead while Ellington brings her stuff in. I show her to her room and her mouth drops. 

Julie's POV

I see this blonde haird girl come running out of the house and she looked so excited. I think that's Rydel my new mom. She gives me a huge hug and kiss and tells me how excited she is that I'm hear. She brings em upstairs to my new room. The walls are a light purple and the ceiling is white, and the trim is also. I have a queen sized bed with pillows galore and a purple and blue blanket and sheet set. I have a huge white walk in closest with clothes and shoes and luckily they are all my size. I have my own bathroom with a stand up a shower and a Jacuzzi tub. The walls are a light blue in the bathroom with white trim as well. 

"all this is for me" I ask shocked to the max.

"This is all for you baby girl" Dad says bring up my stuff. 

I look around my bedroom some more and I have an iPad, a laptop, and an iPhone. The phone was rose gold, the computer was White and the iPad was black. I am so grateful for all my new stuff. I have contacts in my phone already. My parents and some people I don't know. 

"Mom, Dad, Who are these people" I ask nicely.

"well sweetie, those are your uncles and your grandparents. My parents Stormie and Mark and your dads parents Cheryl and George. Plus my brothers and your dads brothers. 

I nod my head stating I understand and they leave me a bit to settle in. I get all me electronics set up and lay on my bed to relax.

Ellingtons POV

Julie is settling in so well and I can't believe how well she is adjusting. There is one things she doesn't know is about the band. Were gonna slowly break the ice tonight at dinner. 

"Jule's baby please come down here for a sec" I call to her.

I hear footsteps on the stairs and I see my beautiful daughter coming around the corner. 

"Yes dad" she asks sweetly.

"What would you like for dinner tonight" I ask 

"mmmm, can we do taco bell" she asks with such hope. 

"Sure baby we can do that. let me get your mom and we'll head out." I say about to get Rydel

The three of us drive to taco bell and eat dinner as were heading out of the restaurant my phone goes off with a message from Riker saying that we need to work on our songs tomorrow. I text him back saying that we'll be there around ten. He texts back saying you better be bringing my niece good sir  with a smiley face and I just had to laugh because he's such a nut. 

Were in the car heading home and it's almost ten at night and Julie is falling asleep. I bring her upstairs and lay her in bed and turn her light off and close her door. Me and Rydel go into our room undress and slip into bed. 

Rydel's POV

"You picked a good one babe" I say to Ellington.

" thanks baby" he says smiling

"she's sweet and kind and funny and so polite." I say yawning.

I close my eyes curl up with my boyfriend and fall asleep. Today was the a great day and I can't wait to see where life takes all of us. We didn't have the time to tell Julie tonight because she was telling us so much about her and that's ok but tomorrow might freak her out a bit.
