Paranormal muffins

CHAPTER ONE || THE BROADCAST

The joy of waking up and coughing all day. Yes.. Zak was visibly sick. Darryl, aka BadBoyHalo, sat at the dining table. He had fixed himself some breakfast, just the ordinary toast and bacon. Darryl heard a creek in the planks just above him. Perhaps the dogs were in the basement? Darryl shook the thought out of his head, assuming he was just.. well, assuming.
Zak finally was woken up and ready to be productive.

"Zak? Good morning! I fixed us some breakfast.
Zak yawned and stretched his arms. He rubbed his eyes and said, "Repeat that please."
Darryl rolled his eyes. Poor Zak. He decided to hit up the pharmacy after they ate. Lying to Zak saying he was going for a walk. He purposely told an easy lie to crack, because Darryl wanted him to find out. Zak kept insisting he was fine, yet the other day he had a fever. Maybe he has an allergic reaction to medications? Darryl shook the thoughts out of his head and proceeded to direct his attention to hurrying to buy Zaks medication.

Darryl arrived in the drug store, and said he was looking for adult Tylenol. Suddenly all the TV's went to a red screen.

"THIS IS A NATIONAL BROADCAST. PLEASE TURN YOUR ATTENTION TO THE DEVICE PLAYING THE BROADCAST."

People turned around, in shock and in disbelief. Darryl was very confused. And turned to the screen as directed.

"ZOMBIES HAVE BEEN SPOTTED AT THE BORDER OF THE UNITED STATES."

People shocked, and grabbed their loved ones hands.

Darryl laughed to himself. He thought it was a drill.

"GATHER MATERIALS AND TAKE SHELTER."
People started running as the letters faded away, and   Darryl's phone started ringing. It was his mom, calling if he was okay and to book a flight to her. He asked if Zak could come, since Zak's mom doesn't really support Zak. She said sure, and to come quickly. They exchanged the typical "Bye, love you." And hung up. Immediately after Zak started calling him to come home.
