~Two~

i struggle with the buttons on my shirt. i just can't get them through. the last thing i wanted to do was ask jeremy for help, but.. it seems as if i have no choice.

"i can't get the button through the hole. can you show me how?"

jeremy groans as he makes his way over to me. "it's so simple." he mutters, slipping the buttons through the thin holes with ease. my face heats up as his fingers brush against my bare skin. what is the cause of that?

"don't talk to me at school. okay?" jeremy had spoken up again. "don't even act like you know me. and don't screw up anyone's life anymore that you already have."

i stare at his back as he walks off. was my damage really that bad? i sigh as i follow him.

we walk to school together in silence. he keeps a good distance away from me.

suddenly my lower area feels heavy. i remember that this is a sign that i need to use the restroom. once i get to school, i find my way to the toilets using my memory from being inside jeremy's head.

then, i see a person i least expected.

michael.

the boy turns to me and flashes a friendly smile. "are you new?" he asks confidently.

"i sure am," i reply. i feel the warmth in my cheeks once again. his smile makes me feel a bit strange.

"well, i'm michael! maybe we have some classes together, do you have your schedule?"

i take out the little slip of paper the authority had given me.

michael reads over it with a smile. "i'll see you in drama and world history. if you need me to show you around, let me know!"

"i'll remember that." i remember every inch of this school. but part of me wanted to spend more time with michael.
