What a Shame (A Mimikyu Story)

What a Shame

  Or family was getting a Lillipup.
  My mother had given me ¥1000 and told me to bring my little sister to pick out a toy for the Lillipup.

  "Go pick out one you think it'll like. If it's cheap enough, I'll buy one for you, too", I told my little sister. She ran off into the toy store with a little shriek.

   I decided to take a walk down the Pokemon plush aisle. I could use a cute new plush to decorate my room.
 
The shelves were filled with plushes of Pokemon of every type, shape and color. There was a whole shelf lined with Pikachu plushes. He was one of the most loved Pokemon, after all.

I took one off the shelf and examined it. "This one looks... weird... " I muttered to myself.

  It's ears were droopy and sagging, not floppy and fluffy like the other Pikachu. It's face looked like it was drawn by a preschooler. It didn't appear to have any arms or legs, either. It's tail was straight and black, nothing like a normal Pikachu's lightning bolt tail.

  At my words, the sorry looking Pikachu sagged even more in my hands. "You know what? " I asked the plush, "I like you. I think I'll buy you. "

  I turned back to the shelf to check the price. I was surprised to find a little sign where the Pikachu had sat that read        
' FREE! ( <3 me plz) '

  At that moment, my little sister ran up to me with a rubber bone and a plush Skitty. "I'm getting these! " she giggled.

  Just then, she noticed what I was holding. "What's that?" She asked.
"A Pikachu." I answered. "That's a Pikachu? "  "Yep."  "It looks kinda weird... "  "Well you know what, " I told her, "I don't care. I'm getting this weird little Pikachu, and he's gonna be my buddy. "

  "Ok, " She said, "but if I were you, I'd get a normal looking Pikachu. What a shame... "
