I finally manage to put all my stuff into a couple of luggage's. I can't believe I have to stay with Christian. What if he has a girlfriend, and she lives there too. How awkward would that be.

I go down stairs telling my parents that I'm ready to head to the airport. Since my car is going to get shipped they said that they would drive me. That means there's going to be a lot of tears.

"You sure you got everything honey." I hear my mother say. She's a really sweet older woman and I love her.

"Yeah mom, I didn't forget anything." I say as my mind goes back to the framed picture of Christian and I.

We make the drive to the airport and the nerves in my stomach start to grow. I don't know if I'll be able to face him again.

I start to get onto the plane after my parents lectured me about going out and partying. My dad told me to make sure that I always used protection and that he doesn't want me to become a mom just yet.

And of course she asked if I had everything and when I told her I'll be staying with Christian she just wiggles her eyebrows like she's in high school. I just laughed and shook my head at her.

Now here I am sitting on a plane, about to fly almost across the country, and am living with a guy who left me a mess two years ago. Let's see how this goes.

I lay my head on the window and close my eyes. " excuse me lady's and gentlemen make sure you guys are in your seats we are about to land thank you." I hear the captain say as I wake up. I rub my eyes and look out the window. Wow everything is so green here.

I get off the plane and I stand around waiting for my luggage.

I get a text from Brandon telling me to Uber to the apartment because Christian had to be at the field a couple hours ago.

I sigh in relief and call an Uber. After waiting twenty minutes for the Uber to come I load his car with my luggage and give him the address to the apartment complex.

My Legs and hands won't stop shaking as we pull up to the apartment complex. I get out my luggage and go into the building.

I realize then that I don't have a key to get in. Shit. Maybe the front desk can help.

"Excuse me, sir do you know if a Christian Yelich left a key for an Avery Marshall." I ask politely.

"Yes miss, Mr. Yelich told me to help you with your luggage when you arrived." He comes over from behind the desk and starts to help.
I'm about to tell him I can manage but he already grabs my stuff and leads me upstairs.

"Me. Yelich finally settled down and found himself a girl, huh. I told him he would find the one eventually. No more one night stands."

"Oh no I'm not his girlfriend, I'm an old friend from back home. I actually just got a job working at the stadium, so Christians letting me stay with him." I awkwardly say. Honestly I don't know how to explain our friendship. Are we still even friends.

"Oh, so sorry miss. Well here we are, if you need anything I'll be downstairs." He says and hurry's off back downstairs. He's nice, I like him.

I open the room door, and I'm greeted by the smell of cologne. The apartment itself is really nice. White walls and granite table tops.

I walk down the hallway and I look at all the pictures on the wall. There's pictures of his family, pictures of him and Brandon, pictures of his team. I keep walking further down the hallway, and I get butterflies in my stomach when I see that he has the picture of us at Disneyland hung up on the walls.

He kept it. I smile to myself and continue down the hallway finding a note on one of the doors.
The note just says "Avery's room." On it with a smiley face. Well I guess this is my room.

I open the door and I find a plain white comforter on a bed along with white furniture.  I like it. It's nice and plain just like me.

I move my stuff in the room and immediately start to unpack knowing that I'm not going to want to do it later.  Its about six and I decide to go get some groceries for the place since christian doesn't eat here a lot.  Even though we aren't talking he still let me live in his home. The least I can do is provide groceries and make dinner every once in a while.

I walk to the store since I saw one on my way here.  I'm only going to buy a few things to make for dinner tonight. When my car comes I'll go back and get more.

I grab some rice, beans and chicken that I'll just cook with some spices.  I know this used to be Christians favorite.

I get back to the hotel greeting Marty the guy who helped me take my stuff up earlier.  Turning on the brewers game I make dinner that then clean up.

Honestly I'm too tired to eat so after I clean up I sit on the couch and fall asleep to the brewers game.  The last thing I heard was that Christian hit a 2 run homer.

Christians P.O.V

"Good game yeli." I hear my teammates shout. I hit my 20th home rum of 2018.  Every one is saying that I have a shot at mvp this year.  I think I might, as long as I keep it up and try getting out of slumps as soo as possible.

Once again I gather my stuff changing real quick, and head home.  I'll probably watch some Netflix or something and then pass out.

I don't have to be at the field until like 2 tomorrow so I get to sleep in.

Going up to my apartment I say a quick goodnight to Marty our doorman and unlock my door.  I can hear the tv on and I can smell a familiar smell.  A smell I haven't smelt in two years. Shit. I forgot she was coming tonight, I got so into the game.

I walk in the door and find Avery passed out on the couch. My breath gets caught in my throat by how beautiful she looks now. Not that she wasn't beautiful before because she definitely was, but she looks more mature. She grew a couple of inches and gained a little weight.

She doesn't look like the same tiny girl she was before. She seems stronger, and she changed her hair. Now her hair is mostly blond, it looks good.

I turn off the tv and debate if I should move her into the room. I don't want her to wake up like last time. But from experience I know how uncomfortable it is to sleep on that couch. You wake up with a sore back, if you don't sleep a certain way.

Setting my stuff down I walk closer to her and gather her into my arms. For a second I just stand there and look at her, she's perfect.  I'm such an asshole for walking out on her that night.

I told her that I wanted to show her how she deserves to be treated, and then I left her like that. It was a dick move.

I take her to her new room and set her on the bed.  Tucking her in, I push the hair out of her face.  I lean down kissing the top of her head and close my eyes.  I'm in deep shit.

I turn to walk out of the door when I hear to stir in bed, and she grabs my hand. "Don't go Damon.  Can you stay this time?" She begs. Her eyes are still closed. Who in the hell is Damon?  I continue to walk out the room and close the door.

She deserves to be happy.  I shouldn't get so strung up on her.  It's not like we'd ever end up together, not after I left her like that.  I'm scared that one day I will hurt her and then I'll lose two friends.

I continue to my room pulling off my shirt and pants deciding to sleep in my boxers as usual.
Turning off the light I try to fall asleep.
