Everything is chaotic, physically and so does the path they chose to take. The suffocating uneasiness and tension fills every corner of the room. It was an oddly cold atmosphere that would never fail to send shivers, but they were too numb. No one even dared to break the thing that kept growing - their own ego.
What once were allies are now each other's greatest enemies. They shared one objective; to end the inevitable war they unconsciously made. They were both tired... very, very tired. Various options showed up, but of all decisions they can make, they chose what crushed them the most.
There's no one to blame though. Neither of them have foreseen the sudden frigid winter in the middle of their scorching hot summer. The flame of their love grew and grew, large enough to blind them with their current state. But was it really true love to begin with? Both of them are too fixed with things that will make what they have stronger, they don't want it to end. Then there came the point wherein they forgot the first and basic thing they should do, they forgot to love each other, as well as their own selves.
A blizzard of countless arguments, doubts, and regrets followed. They knew from the very start what went wrong. They are aware of what kind of future is waiting ahead. But they can't do anything about it. Their another clever enemy took advantage of the situation; time betrayed them. It was too late.
Sitting at the sofa that never felt so empty even though they're right next to each other. With heavy hearts, dried trails of tears on their cheeks, and exhausted souls, they sat in silence. It was not the comfortable type, it was rather more bothering.
With enough strength and courage, she stood up, got her small backpack and luggage that are waiting beside the front door. Every step she took away from him is pure torture, but staying will also feel too painful to handle. With one last glance at the man that she loved, loves, and will continue to love, her eyes filled with sorrow bid goodbye to him. She doesn't want to leave but she have to. Once she took a step outside that door, she'll also take a step outside his life.
And she finally did.
Their relationship was filled with up's amd down's. They can both admit that they were not a perfect couple.
But the most painful part of their journey?
It is letting go of what once you held onto.
