I rested my hand on the glass, condensation forming around my warm hand. The sky was dark outside and the stars twinkled in an almost menacing way. The moon shone down, lighting up the school courtyard and illuminating a slight fog. I turned away from the dark night scene and walked across the small hallway to the doors of the school library.

Opening the doors, a small breeze flew out, the slight chill forcing the hair on my neck to stand straight up. The library was silent and empty except for three bodies. Tori, Prae, and Erin grinned at me. I smiled and walked across the silent library, my footsteps giving a dull thud with every step. The silence in the library was eerie and the shelves seemed to loom gloomily above me.

"Hey Jaiden." Prae smiled, her voice a scream compared to the deathly silence of the library. She patted the empty chair next to her. I plopped down into it and began to talk. What we talked about, I don't remember, but I do remember the lightning.

The first crack of lightning startled the four of us and lit up the entire length of the library. The library was  silent again. We waited for yet another crash and went back to speaking in hushed tones.

Another bolt lit up the library, the light slowly receding from the books, some a dark purple, others blood red. I rubbed my arms, trying to banish the sea of goosebumps. The cold must be leaking in somehow. I thought, scanning the room.

Then the screams came.

All four of us whipped our heads around to face the door way. I could see people walking in the hallways, obviously not startled by the painful howls. One face stopped and looked into the library. I immediately recognized it as Adam, a friend of mine. He smiled and waved. I slowly waved back.

The scream rose in pitch once more and then cut off suddenly into silence. Curious, I stood and headed towards the glass doors. I can't remember if my friends followed me or not. I just remember walking towards the scream, as if I had no choice. I was being sucked into it.

I reached the glass doorways and delicately set my fingers on the glass, peering out past the hallway and out into the courtyard. One figure stood, his back facing me. Through the fog I could make out another figure laying limply on the ground. The standing figure slowly turned to face me. His hood was up and I couldn't see his face. His face didn't matter to me. What mattered were his hands.

Rather the absence of them. His hands had been replaced with long, blood stained blades. The head tilted slightly to the side. Somehow, I knew that he was looking at me.

That was when everyone panicked. The people in the hall suddenly took off running in every which direction. Screaming girls clung to each other and didn't know what to do. Looking to the side, I watched Adam's figure retreat.

Peering out into the fog, I no longer saw the clawed man. A flash of lightning momentarily blinded me. I stumbled backwards and blinked rapidly. My eyes adjusted to the horrenduos scene of three screaming girls, cornered by the clawed man.

I turned away and saw my three friends behind me. Tori turned away from the single glass barrier that kept us away from the crime. Prae and Erin endured the sight. The screams stopped.

i looked at my friends. "What do we do?" I asked. "Call the police! Quick someone call the-"

My voice was cut off as a flash of lightning sent the entire school into darkness. Tori screamed and it bounced off the walls of the pitch black library. "Guys?" I called.

Silence.

"this isn't funny! Where are you?" I waved my hands out in front of me but I couldn't see them. THe darkness swirled into shapes in front of me. My chest began to tighten and breathing became harder. Not being able to see sent my body into panic mode. I'm going to feint! I realized!

A flash of Zeus' mighty bolt lit the library up and lit the face up that stared blankly an inch away from mine. The eyes were black and the skin a pale white. The mouth was held permanently open by uneven pins. The skin around the eyes was stained a bloody red color and the deep black eyes seemed to stare right into my soul. I felt one of it's metal fingers trail along my cheek and dug in slightly. With a scream, I stumbled backwards.

Another flash of lightning lit up the room, but the clawed man was no where to be seen. I set my hand on the ground to push myself up to me. Lifting my hand up to my face, I could feel something slimy covering my palm.

A flash of lightning illuminated the pool of blood that my hand had come to rest in. It illuminated the three bodies on the ground. I saw him standing there, out of the corner of my eye.

"Yes I killed them." He seemed to say silently. "I killed them all."

I panicked and ran for the door. I groped along the wall until my fingers grasped the handles. I pulled and yanked.

Nothing.

They were locked.

"Help me!!" I screamed, banging on the windows. "Help me please!" I could feel the fear filled tears soak my cheeks. The lightning flashed and this time the light stayed longer than normal.

Adam was staring at me through the glass. "Adam!" I screamed. "Let me out! Please!" He stared blankly at me as if he no longer knew me. I banged on the window in front of his face. "Adam! Unlock the door! Hurry he is going to kill m-"

I was whipped around my clawed hands. I stared into the dark eyes and pale face. Somehow, he spoke. "Hello Doll face."

Then the lights went out for the last time.
