Freddie decides to leave Queen again. He wants to work on every type of music he can before he dies.
He watches opera on his TV and he sees Montserrat Caballé. He falls in love with her voice.
Freddie sits at his desk and writes down more songs. He realises that he acted healthy in Live AID and in his Wembley performance. He pretended to be.
He writes out the lyrics to his new song idea, The Great Pretender.
He decides he wants to change his look so he gets his mustache shaved off. Jim becomes suspicious of Freddie's behaviour.
Freddie sits him down.
-F "I have been ill for a while. When I first went solo two years ago, I began to feel bad. I coughed up blood, found odd moles and I had to go to a clinic. I have AIDs, Jim."
-J "No. No. You can't. Please..."
Jim looks down and cries. Freddie pats his hand.
-F "I will still continue to make music. I won't have many years. So I will do what I can until I can't even talk."
