broken strings and a broken mate

chapter 1

hey guys this is my first story on wattpad so im open to sugestions and feedback been reading stories on wattpad and trying to learn from other wrighters... hope you like it :D

As I turned around I smiled, he had been listening to me play.

"what do you think?" I asked referring to the song I had just written.

"It sounds amazing, Rikki" he smiled. "Dinner will be ready in five" he said as he turned away and started down the hall. I watched him walk away his dirty blond hair glistened under the hall lights. I wondered if I would ever be as tall as him. his 6.6 stature was the fist thing everyone always noticed about him. I was always known as Rikki Morgan, Thomas Morgans daughter. My father had quite a reputation being the only qualified surgeon in our small town of glenston.

Music was my life. And he always supported me. When my mum, Lauren Morgan, told me to pull  my head out of the clouds because music wasn't a career he would stand up for me and say how music is an important part of life and that it says with you forever. My mother would scoff, roll her eyes and walk away. Although I was only 18 I had been told I had an astonishingly strong voice that could silence angels and played the guitar like no one else.

I put my guitar back in its case and wandered down stairs. I walked into the kitchen and saw the roasting dish full of hot chips. Dad was drying dishes, he turned around just as I was putting a chip in my mouth.

"Hey!" He yelled at me teasingly and flicked me with a tea towel. I squealed and ran out of the kitchen to sit at the table by mum. We smiled at each other.

"how was school?" Mum asked me cheerfully 

"oh it was good. I'm learning about Shakespeare in English." I grinned brightly. dad walked in, plates in hand, balancing one on his arm and sat down at the table giving us both our food.

"your song sounded great!" He said proudly.

ok i know it was short but its only an introductory chapter and as i said my first story. please comment and tell me if you like it or not no grammar Nazis please i tried my best. thanks- Zephie :)
