The sun's rays filtered through the thick canopy of trees creating a warm light that would be inviting to anyone in circumstances different than yours.
The sound of comms cackling and a multitude of boots crushing the brush underfoot could be heard surrounding the small crevice you were hiding in. You could feel your face whiten and the thundering of your racing heart was becoming louder than anything else. Trembling, you risked raising your head through the narrow crack in the rock, immediately regretting it. Bloody and burning corpses could be seen in all directions as you quickly glanced around. Men and women in white armour were shooting those who were injued beyond use and thrusting young, able-bodied people onto the large black ship.
One of the men spotted you and you ducked back into your small hiding spot in the rock, but it was too late.
"Look over there! There's one in the rock." You squeezed your eyes shut and began to violently shake. Black and white armored hands reached into your hiding place, tightly grasping your arm. Ear-splitting screams began to erupt from your throat as the men harshly tore you away from the crevice.
"Stop resisting, child," one voice shouted.
"Service to the Empire will bring great honor and respect." Opening your eyes, you watched as an elder of your small village was shot. His screams were silenced as quickly as they had began. You whimpered as the men drug you to the ship. Your complaints and crys for help began to grow louder and the man to your left struck you, leaving a harsh sting on your face. You began to resist once more and even managed to break free once.
"No! No! I won't leave!" Hot tears were streaming down your face as you lashed out at the man who had hit you. He instinctively pulled his blaster, pressing it to your temple.
"If you want to stay so bad, I won't stop you," he snarled, pulling the trigger.

Y/N pov (2nd person)
You sat up, breaking out in a cold sweat. The nightmares had become a constant companion of sleep and you were terrified to slip into unconsciousness because every night was more terrifying than the last.
You calmed your breathing and climbed out of bed, slipping on your boots and utility belt. On your way out of your quarters, you grabbed your lightsaber and ran your hands over the silver metal before clipping it onto your belt.
The sound of your footfalls was the only sound as you walked through the empty halls of the Devastator. You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and stood up straighter as you strolled through the automatic doors onto the bridge of the ship.
"Ahh, General Y/L/N, come for the update I assume?" You glanced at Grand Moff Tarkin. You shook your head.
"You shouldn't assume things, Tarkin. I assure you that it never ends as you think,"you say, not sparing the officer another glance.
He walked up to you and whispered into your ear," Are you implying that if I assume something, it will happen the opposite of what I think. Hmm?" You frowned and slowly nodded. He lightly chuckled.
"Well in that case, I assume that you won't follow me back to my quarters." You rolled your eyes.
"It seems that you assumed correctly, Grand Moff,"you said with a twisted grin. He stalked off mumbling under his breath and you shook your head.
"He has more wrinkles than chances with me," you mumbled to yourself.
You silently continued to watch the officers around you bustle around the bridge, focusing only on their work. Perfectly in tune with the jobs they were given, these former stormtroopers had fought tooth and nail to get to their current positions, and in your eyes, that was proof that the Empire's system and protocol was perfectly balanced as all things should be.
The doors opened behind you and you turned to see Darth Vader amble towards you. You nodded respectfully and he acknowledged you briefly.
"Where is Grand Moff Tarkin?" he growled and you threw a glance over your shoulder in the direction of a brooding Tarkin.Vader simply nodded and left without another word.
Looking around the bridge once more, you noticed that all the officers had become much more rushed and many of them were putting as much distance between themselves and Darth Vader. You chuckled to yourself. It didn't take the force to see that they were scared of the sith lord. Those in power should not only be respected, but also feared. Those without authority should fall at the feet of the powerful; resistance is futile and always will be.
An incoming transmission from the Emporer snapped you out of your thoughts. You quickly left the bridge and entered your quarters. Kneeling on one knee, you accepted the transmission.
"My Asset, I have a mission for you." You looked up at your master, ready for the job. There wasn't anyone better than you, and the Emporer knew that as well as you did.
"I need you to infiltrate the Rebel Alliance. You must gain their trust and gather intel, and in the end, ultimately obliterate them from the inside." A wicked grin began to spread across your features.
"I will not let you down, My lord." The transmission ended and you let out the breath you hadn't known you had been holding. The grin you had suppressed earlier crept back onto your face. This was going to be easy, and if you even dared to say, fun.
