Tony knew he had hurt you even tho he promised not to be like the other guy's you had been with. Only if he knew the promise he had broken, has hurt you more since it came from him and none of your exes has made a promise like that. But he also knew he loved you with his all. He would sacrifice himself it meant you lived, he would rather suffer than see you in pain. Funny how in the end he caused you a lot of pain. Even now seeing you with someone else is hurting him, he'd rather see you happy with someone new than alone and broken.

The team has tried relentlessly to cheer Tony up, help him get over the breakup or trying to deal with it. But to no avail could they, Tony knew you were THE one for him and he fucked up big time.
