Finding out I'm crazy

The sight in front of me brought tears to my eyes. Everyone was gone. It was as if they all stopped what they were doing and left. If there's no one left here, then why am I here? I shouldn't be here. It was a mistake. I'm not the one that's supposed to be here. There was a mistake made, somewhere along the line. I'm supposed to be gone. Gone, like everybody else. I'm just like everybody else.

"No. You're not. You're special, like us." A voice in my head told me.

Now I'm even going crazy.

"You're not crazy." The voice said.

Yeah? I thought. Well what am I then? Am I perfectly sane, and you are just talking to me through telepathic connection that we share?

"Bingo."

Wha-How is-I don't understand. Who are you? How are you inside of my head?

"I'm special, like you. Each one of us is different. We need you to come. You have to come and find us."

How can I find you?

"Do you see the blue car on the road to your right?"

Yes.

"Go to it and type the address 315 Folgen St. Then just follow the directions. Please, you must hurry."

I did hurry, running to the car the the voice had pointed out. I typed in the address, and the voiced came on and told me which way to go. I ended in front of an abandoned business building. Then again, of course it was abandoned. There was no one else here to occupy it. Then again, there was other people here. Special people. People like me.

"Good Meg. Now go inside. We're waiting on the fourth floor, in room 431. Hurry, and don't be obvious. They could be watching you."

Who's they?

"We'll explain everything later. Just hurry and come. We all have been waiting a long time to meet you."

Me? Why am I so special?

"I'll tell you later. Just come. Turn to the left when you come in and go up the stairwell. Do not take the elevator. Go to the fourth floor and find room 431. Go, now."

I'm going.

I did as I was told, and turned left when I came through the big glass doors. I passed an empty registration desk, one where a secretary would sit, perhaps? I wen the door marked 'Stairs' and climbed. I passed the second floor, then the third, until I finally came to the fourth floor. I pushed open the door and walked out of the platform, leaving the winding staircase behind me. I walked down a never ending hallway until I came to room 431. I was about to push open the door when I stopped. What am I doing? I'm taking orders from a voice in my head. I was suddenly scared, what if this was a trap? Do I even know what I'm walking into? No. I don't. But what does it really matter? I'm all that I have left, so what could I possibly lose? I took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

"Meg. I'm glad you finally made it." The voice from my head told me. But instead of being in my imagination, it emanated from the person standing in front of me.

POV Jason

The wide-eyed girl standing in front of me was breathtakingly beautiful. Her dirty blonde cascaded around her shoulders and highlighted her green eyes. She was frightened by me, that much I could tell. And I hated it.

"Please." I said, "Don't be frightened. My name is Jason. You and I are very much alike, that is how we can communicate. We share a mind link, one that is very powerful."

"But, I don't even know you. How can we share a mind link?"

Because we were made for each other.

"Because we have the same gift." I said, not speaking the truth.

"Oh. What is our gift, then?"

"I'll let you find out later." I then grabbed her hand, but she recoiled quickly.

"What are you doing?!"

"Just trust me. I'm taking you to meet the others."

She was hesitant, but gave in, lightly setting her delicate hand into my open palm. I quickly closed my fingers around hers, before she could pull away. I lead her into the next room and towards the hidden door in the corner, all the while hoping she felt the same sparks that I did when we touched.

POV Meg

Jason seemed nice. I don't trust him yet, but as of right now, he's the only person I know. He was leading me towards the corner, and I wondered if he was just crazy. The thought was blown right out of my mind and splattered against the wall when he pressed his palm onto the rough drywall and a hidden door swung open. It lead to another room, and I could hear voices inside. I followed him through the dark hallway, trying to get my eyes to adjust, and bumped into his back when stopped suddenly.

"Guys, I'd like you to meet Meg."

And he pulled me into a bright room, blinding me.

"She's here?! Finally, I get to meet her!"

When my eyes got used to the bright florescent lights, I gasped at the girl standing in front of me. She looked just like me, except she had dark hair and grey eyes.

"Hi!" She said, causing me to jump. "I'm Lucy."

"Hi. Why-why do you look like me?" I asked reaching out and touching her cheek to make sure she was real. It was so weird, like looking into a mirror.

"Well, I'm your sister. Meg, we're twins."
