* Rio's POV. *
I show up at school and hear a rumor that there's a new girl but shes a catch i want to meet her but i want to keep my cool i have a girlfriend after all i don't want to start any problems, i get to first period and scan the room nope no one new. i get to second period, nope no one... hold on, shes pretty, shes a short cutie but shes wearing heeled boots so she looks taller i start to get flustered and blush-y i fix my shirt get up and walk over to her "h-hey" my voice cracks "i like your boots" and as soon as i was there i was gone.
I sit down next to Lilly my friend and we start chatting and I look over to 'boots' is what I nicknamed her, finding her looking right at me, I look away fast and blush, and so does she. "hey Rio are you blushing?" Lilly, being the loud Cuban she is says. "NO!" i spit out faster then light she starts chuckling and I smack her and Ms. walker shushes us both as she walks over to 'boots' "hey Hun whats your name" she says sweetly "uhh Erykah" ery says while twitting her thumbs "That's a pretty name by the way i love your writing" she says in a hush tone "T-thanks" ery says shyly. heh shes cute-- no, no, no, I cant be thinking hat i have a girlfriend but I mean she lives in Ohio and I live in Florida I couldn't hurt her if she doesn't know..
I keep looking at her smiling subconsciously writing down 'Erykah' over and over again on my paper then lily snaps in my face waking me from this trance and i look down and crumple up the paper thinking 'shit' i get up and walk to the rubbish bin and throw it away on my way back i trip and think 'JFC i need mental help' i mentally face palm the bell rings "lilly ready for gym-- hey ery want to walk with us?" she takes a moment, then nods, walking behind me and Lilly. "hey-- uhh, you ok?" she nods. "New girl syndrome?" she nods again. "I remember when i was the new boy but i started with a bunch of newbys that knew eachother. We were all new to the 'middle school grounds' " i reminisce, adding in air quotations. "Me and Rio weren't even friends till this year!" Lilly adds. We all get in the locker rooms and everyone starts changing as I show ery where the stalls are. I go back and start changing with the rest of the girls.
We all head out for attendance then gym starts Lilly goes with her friends I'm with Lucca, Yusmanny and Denety. I'm on the ground with lucca rooling around screaming "ITS FASTER IF YOU ROLL!" we all laugh, we mess around some more until we all change and gym ends. By lunch, we head over to our table as ery is beckoned by the 'populars' but Denety quickly scoops her up and heads her in the direction of our table. We start playing spin the bottle, As it spins it lands on ery we both blush, duck under the table give a quick peck on the lips and I laugh while I get up from under the table. Time flys and were in our last period. The bell ring schools out and.. i look at her and "hey -uhh ery?" i say sheepishly "hmm" she hums "-will you go to prom with me?" my voice cracks again. She soon nods and I sigh in relief. I'm so happy I met her,
'but i cant have her..'
