They always say that you don't know what you have until you lose them. But it's not true in Dylan's case. He has always known what he has. He just didn't know that he would lose it.

He didn't know he would lose Yue.

From the moment they met, she has always been with him literally every step of the way. Dylan couldn't recall a moment when Yue isn't with him.

She is the perfect best friend.

Back then, everyone assumed that they are an item. Who wouldn't? They are not one to shy away from showing their affection for each other. It may be true that Yue is the one who's more vocal about her feelings. But it was actually Dylan who's more affectionate. He loves to hug Yue. He automatically reaches for her hand when they're together. He just likes the warmth of Yue's hand. It always gives him comfort.

Blessed with good looks and natural charm, Dylan has always been the object of affection of many girls. He doesn't like the attention though. Even at a young age, he has turned down a lot of girls. And then came Yue. She is the only one who was able to climb the wall that he has built around himself.

Yue is the beautiful chaos he never knew he needed.

And they were happy. Dylan was happy.

Until they were not.

From the moment they had a falling out, everyone close to them had blamed him for hurting Yue. And questioned his actions. Scrutinized his feelings.

They kept on saying he just toyed with Yue. That he had led her to believe that he loves her. That he had fooled her. He fooled all of them.

But amidst everything, no one even asked him if he's okay.

Because as much as it's hard to believe, he was hurting too.

Yes, he surprised everyone when he came back from Barcelona with a girlfriend in tow. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't love Yue.

BECAUSE HE DOES. VERY MUCH.

But he was not in love with her like that.

It's true that Yue suffered, but he did too. Because the last thing that he wants is for Yue to get hurt. But she did get hurt. And it was his fault. And the most painful part is he can't do anything about it.
