'Mom, I'm going to get a drink alright?' Josh asked his mother, who was sitting on the chair next to the hospital bed. She only hummed in response, implying that she was okay with that.

'Ah wait Josh, if you could get me a drink, that'd be nice' she said. Josh nodded and walked out of the hospital room.

The reason why they had ended up in the hospital was blatantly stupid. It was so absolutely stupid it actually hurt to think about. At least it wasn't his fault.

Since Josh and his older sister were "growing up so fast" (like their mom said), his parents wanted to go out and do something nice and exciting with the family.

When you think of cute, nice, lovely, exciting, whatever, family day trips you'd think about the park maybe, maybe a trip to the beach. Some shopping, going to see a movie.

No, they wanted to go ice skating.

There was nothing really wrong with ice skating, it actually was pretty fun. It only wasn't something that 17 year old Joshua William Dun wanted to do with his parents and his little sister. Especially not his dad, who was the worst at ice skating in the world.

All of those worries aside, they ended up going ice skating, his dad fell and had broken his leg.

Hence why they were at the hospital now

Josh strutted his way over to the closest vending machine to get himself a drink. He actually really disliked hospitals, from the smell, to the annoyed underpaid nurses and the sometimes creepy patients.

He seemed to be basically all alone in the hallway now. Maybe it wasn't broken bones season.

When he finally found a vending machine he noticed he wasn't alone anymore. At the machine there was a boy standing, he couldn't be much younger or older than Josh himself and he was.... smacking the machine?

'You freaking machine! Why can't I ever just be a bit lucky in my life'. Josh heard the stranger shout at the vending machine. He squinted his eyes and walked over to the other boy.

'Anything I can do to help?' Josh asked the boy, who got startled by Josh suddenly standing beside him.

'Uhh, my drink is stuck and I can't get it out... I paid 2 whole dollars for that Redbull!' the boy with the, Josh now noticed, fluffy brown locks of hair.

'Well... I don't really think punching the machine will help, perhaps we can ask one of the people that work here to get it out?' Josh suggested. The stranger smacked his forehead with the palm of his hand.

'I'm so dumb, of course we should do that. Why didn't I think of that earlier? I want to say thank you, but I'd rather apologize for my behavior' the boy told Josh, who just shook his head. How could this boy be so silly, but so cute?

'It's alright man, I'll go and find someone with you' Josh told the other and together they walked through the hallway to find someone that looked like they could maybe help them.

Eventually a nurse opened up the machine and the stranger got the Redbull that he, quote on quote, payed "2 whole dollars" for.

'Well, thanks for helping me find someone, bye!' the stranger said and waved at Josh, who waved back. He blinked a few times and gave a look back at the other boy.

'Hey wait!!' he shouted and ran after him. He didn't know what he was doing, he was just following what his intuition was telling him and perhaps that wasn't the best idea from time to time. Yelling in the middle of a hospital hallway wasn't the best idea either, and he received many angry looks from nurses and doctors passing by.

'What's your name?' he asked the brunet. Why did he even ask that? Would he benefit in any way from knowing that? Not at all, he'd never see that guy ever again anyway.

'Uhm... it's Tyler, why?' the other asked, frowing a bit.

'N-No reason! Anyway, I'm Josh, nice to meet you' Josh greeted. The boy, who's name was Tyler apparently nodded and smiled.

'Nice to meet you too, bye now' he said and waved once again, before walking off to who knows where.

Josh sighed.

It's sad that meeting people as gorgeous as Tyler was a rare occurence.
