20....19....18....17... "Open your textbooks to page 162!"

Uggghhh. Econs is sooo boring.

"I know, right?" Damon says from beside me.

"I didn't say that out loud." I deadpan, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Your facial expression did." He says grinning and I grin back because well, I'm sure we all know how I feel about Econs class.

Back to count down.

6...5...4... "Miss Steward, if you could kindly stop looking at the-"

'BRRRRRRNNNNGGGG'

Finally!!

"I know, right?" Damon says waiting for me to finish packing my bags.

"The fact that you can read my facial expressions so much is kinda creepy." I say walking backwards out of the classroom.

Don't judge.

"What can I say. It's one of my many talents." Damon says smugly.

"Weirdo."

"Didn't deny the fact that I am talented." Damon coughs out. I just raise an eyebrow at him almost asking him to repeat what he said.

Almost. Seriously it was at the tip of my tongue and I was about to say it.

Until.....

"SPORTS WEEK MOTHERFUCKERS!!"

That happened, and by that I mean Gemma running towards me waving her hands in the air like crazy, her hair all up in her face yelling.

"IT'S FREAKING SPORTS WEEK!!"
At everyone and I mean everyone.

"You know it starts after lunch right?" Damon facepalms. "And tennis tryouts aren't even today."

"That's not true." She says stubbornly folding her arms across her chest.

Sophie and Damien at that exact moment, I think, emerge from their English class.

"Yes, yes it is." Sophie says with her 'as-a-matter-of-fact' face.

I look up to Damien grinning at Damon, who returns it with a grin of his own.

Before I can actually say something, Gemma cuts me off again by ranting on and on about how she would have to change and how there's no place for us to check school announcements.

Even if we have a school website and a wall for that....and yes I said a wall.

Before I know it we're already in the cafeteria, Damon and Sophie gone to go buy us all lunch and Gemma.... Well God knows were the girl is.

So it's pretty much just me and Damien and I'm feeling a bit nervous.

I mean, wouldn't you be nervous if you  punched the guy on his first day after kinda, sorta getting him into detention?

Yes you would.

But after detention that day we've turned from slight enemies to friends.

"So how was your weekend?" Damien asks.

I think back on Danny trashing my pizza and spilling my milkshake on Saturday. And me having allergic reactions on Sunday.

"Horrible." Damien laughs at my face and damn, is the sound beautiful.

"Can't say the same." He says, putting his arm around my chair. "Are you excited for sports week?"

That brings a huge smile to my face. "Super."
