A/N:

The italics thing. And Translation on the bottom. If you've gotten this far you probably already understand and are probably getting quite irritated with the repetitive message before the story progresses. I'm sorry! If you've gotten this far it's probably set in by now.

Thanks for reading!

"Holy shit." My grip let go and the hammer dropped to the ground. The floor shook slightly. The Avengers stared at me in shock.

It was silent in the room for a few moments and I quickly began to feel like a freak on display.

Stark cleared his throat. "All deference to the man who wouldn't be king, but it's rigged. And this one has just used her witchy nature to trigger it." He started moving to stand beside me. His hand gently landed on my left shoulder. I flinched under his touch and on that particular spot. Stark gently guided me back to Steve where the super soldier pulled me to sit where he had been seconds before. "The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints' is, I think, the literal translation?"

"Yes, well that's, uh, that's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." Thor swallowed harshly. The hammer fell into place in his massive hands. "With the exception of the girl. You're all not worthy."

"How?" I whispered into his head through what felt like clenched teeth. "Tell me you have a reasonable explanation for this thing."

Thor caught my terrified gaze and he shook his head slightly. I could feel bike ride up in my throat and my body get hot. I felt like I was going to snap any minute if anyone said it's one thing wrong.

A horrible screeching echoed through the entire building. Everyone's hands fly to their ears, blocking out the sound until faded.

A broken bot trips through the entrance of the floor.

"Worthy... No... How could you be worthy? You're all killers." The not stretched out his words like a child just learning how to speak.

"Stark." Steve clenched his jaw ushering me behind the chair.

"JARVIS." The billionaire glanced towards the ceiling. There was no response from the A.I.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or...I was a-dream?" The bot ground out through metal jaws. I clutched my hands to my head. Fear seeping into my muscles.

"Reboot, Legionnaire OS, we got a buggy suit."

"There was a terrible noise...and I was tangled in... in...strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." The bots voice was like nails on a chalkboard.

"You killed someone?" Steve's voice popped into my hearing.

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world we're faced with ugly choices."

"Who sent you?" Thor demanded. I could picture him stepping in front of his team even if I couldn't see him.

Tears welled in my eyes. My mind started blanking things out. Bringing back bad memories. Reasons for me to hate Stark.
