The Hybrid

Chapter 1-The New Chick

I let out a yawn hearing my annoying ass alarm wake me up as I turned it off and got situated for the day. I got a text the night before about some demon hunters coming to my place to recruit me into helping a cause so I got up early in case they came around noon which is now 10am. My small dragon Alduin was in his den which I created just for him as he flew over to sit on my shoulder which I petted him right away giving him a smile.

"Sleep ok Alex?" Alduin asked.

"Yeah, which is weird cause I don't get enough sleep these days." I told him.

Alduin flew over to sit on the table nearby as I grabbed his breakfast first which was always raw meat I got for him which is his normal meal for the whole day. I then got my breakfast and coffee situated as I had the music on my stereo going loud enough that I can hear it which was always rock or metal.

I heard some knocks come from my apartment door an hour later as I was already washed from my shower as I had ripped jeans, tanktop with a bra built in and a black trench coat that was my size and finally my dragon necklace. I opened the door to see the demon hunters there in front of me as well as some women too. I gave them a small smile, "I guess you guys are from devil may cry?"

Dante who I heard of chuckled and stepped closer to me, "Hell yeah we are babe. Nice place."

"Thanks. Come in and make yourself at home." I told them and walked away to lower the music on my stereo. I saw Alduin fly over as the others got defensive as I had my hands up, "Whoa take it easy guys, this is my friend, Alduin."

They all seemed to relax as I breathed out a sigh of relief as they began introducing themselves to me. Of course I knew Dante since he was the one who texted me he also had Trish, Vergil and Lady with him. Nero had Nico with him and then V was with them too.

"So what can you do Alex? You didn't tell me much about yourself over text." Dante asked.

"Well if you wanna get straight to the point I'm half demon and half dragon then the obvious human half too. My parents were the same as well and I received Alduin here when he was a dragon egg when I was only 5." I told them.

"Oh I get it you have abilities that are different from the guys here right?" Nico asked.

I smiled, "Yeah, I have more defense from the scales I can conjure up on my body and I can take blows a lot more easily plus I have a much faster healing rate too."

"Do you have a devil trigger?" Nero asked.

I thought for a moment, "I thought it was that at first when I used it the first time but Alduin told me it's called 'Dragon Trigger' for me. I'm the only one who can do it."

"Can you show us?" Vergil asked.

I shook my head, "Not here no. Only when we're fighting demons, I'd hate to mess up my apartment."

"It's that destructive?" Trish asked confused.

I laughed nervously, "Yeah, I'm still learning how to use it. I only used Dragon Trigger a few times in my life when I truly needed it."

V hummed in thought, "Do you have trouble controlling it at all?"

I looked over at V then looked down, "At times yeah. I have a short temper so..."

"You should come with us and we'll help you control it easier." Lady mentioned with a smile.

I looked over at Alduin who was sitting on my shoulder listening to the conversation who roared happily flapping its wings which elicited a smile from me, "Yeah I guess I can come along."
