I'm really sorry for making a new story.  I just keep wanting to type and I end up getting more ideas for new stories.  I should really work on my other works.  Big time.

Anyways, this is my second Vampire Knight story.

I'm sorry for any grammar and spelling errors.

Enjoy.

Humans are born, grow, live their life as they please and eventually meet their end of their life.  Some die at a young age while other live a long life.

Some don't have the best life and might have wished to be given a chance to change it all.  Some live a good life and can leave at peace.

Though there are some that are reluctant to leave, and wonder around.

And as death, la muerte, shinigami, mort, morte, it is their job to take the souls of the now deceased humans.

Though over time a certain reaper began to think what it would be like to be alive.  To actually live a life that a human would.  So he would pose as a human and walk amongst the humans.

The attention he got.  Talking to humans, that are alive and not talking to their souls.  This was all new to him, and almost euphoric and addicting.  But even though he was posing as a human, he couldn't fully enjoy what life had to offer.

He couldn't enjoy the food, he after all didn't need food or water.  He merely consumed them to give the further appearance of being human.

The souls of the deceased that want to move on would keep following him and ask to be taken to where they needed to be.  And some would even go as far as to ask him to do favors for them.  Like, "please go speak with my family."  Or, "I was murdered.  I have all the evidence, please find it and take it to the police."

And since he technically wasn't alive, his body was always cold to the touch.  There was no warmth.  Only when he would stay out where he could feel the warmth of the sun.

Most of all, he yearned to live.  He was tired of living, more like existing, for so long and watching human after human die and having to collect their souls.

When collecting their souls, when coming into contact with them.  That was the only moment that he could really feel what it was to live.  In some way he could see and feel through that soul what life was.  And he wanted that.

But yearning life is taboo.

Was it really worth it?  Was living worth doing what is considered as taboo?

Will god have mercy or none at all?

Will he be forgiven for what he wants?  Will it be allowed?

"You can't!" A dark haired woman with a blue suit yelled.  Her green eyes desperately looking into the blue eyes of the other as they walked among the humans, "Have you lost your sanity?  You know very well that even if any of us yearn for it, we can't have it.  And you know very well what happens to those who go against what has been set."  She said as she thought back at the other reapers who once had such yearnings.

They were all disposed of.  Now there were only three death reapers.

"But since nothing has happened to me so far.  That must mean that he may have started to take this into consideration.  Since we never did live, we are merely an existence created to take the lives of those who once lived." He said as he let out a sigh.

She closed her knowing very well who he was referring to, "I guess we will only have to wait.  And see what happens."

~Timeskip (years later)~

In human standards it has been over three hundred years and now he was the only reaper left.

The woman who once warned him to stop yearning for life, gave up her life to save a human who she had grown attached to after seeing him.

And the other reaper had gone missing.  It has been over one hundred years since they have last heard of him.

And it was awfully lonely being the only of his kind.

But eventually his dreams were answered.

"You have yearned for life.  So I will give you the chance to live.  I have given many others the chance to live, but none have cherished the life given to them.  But let it be known.  If you succeed in living.  Death will always follow you.  You, Joshua the name I had chosen for you since your existence, will live.  But never forget where it is you came from."

Joshua heard his voice, but could not see him.  As it always is.  There were very few who have seen him, "Thank you."

He had a feeling that once he left, he would never be allowed to come back.  Never allowed to hear his voice.  The voice of god, the voice that they had yearned to hear even if they could not see him.

He knew it was going to be hard.  But he didn't know it was going to be this hard.

Every time that he tried to attach himself to a human to give himself the chance to live and form a new fetus in the woman's body.  It never worked out.

They would always die.  Along with the unborn child.

He changed his tactic to try to go to a woman who was not pregnant but was for sure involved in a relationship that would guarantee a pregnancy and not have it seem like some unplanned pregnancy.

But they too would die.

Every human he tried to go to would die.  His spiritual existence was too much for a human to handle.  It was a surprise how he hadn't killed any humans when he would pose as a human himself.

This lasted for a few more years.  Until finally.  Finally he found someone who was able to withstand his very being.

(Elsewhere)

It was unheard of for this to happen.

It was already a surprise that someone was to give birth to twins.  Especially in a family of hunters.  But it had never been heard of that there were to be triplets born.

Slowly placing her hand on her still flat belly she, as best she could, listened to what the doctor was telling her.  The doctor also was a hunter.

"Mrs. Kiryuu, in the eyes of the association it would be best to bring your pregnancy to an end.  But as a doctor I advice against it." The doctor leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms across his chest as he looked intently at her.  Watching her reaction change from happiness, shock, and saddness, "Ultimately it is your choice what you choose to do."

She clenched her jaw and turned her hard gaze to the doctor, "I will keep them.  They're my children.  Even if they haven't been born yet.... I have already fallen in love with them."  She said as her eyes glistened with unshed tears, but her eyes shone with an undying determination challenging anyone to appose her decision.

~Timeskip (Months Later)~

Three infants were sound asleep in their crib.

"They're so cute." The young mother muttered as she leaned on her husbands shoulder.

He nodded, "Yes they are."

She leaned over the crib that all three infants shared, and gently caressed their face, "Our beautiful Zero, Ichiru and Haruna."
