Chapter 4 - Perfume

Start from the beginning

The door finally opened. Taeyong's eyes were looking down, he adjusted his perfectly tied tie with a gesture, and his wet hair framed his thin face.

"I'm ready," he said softly, passing next to Jaehyun without ever looking at him.

The lycan swallowed, feeling the new and attractive smell invade his snout. He smiled seeing the slim figure coming down the stairs quickly without waiting for him.

Jaehyun had never smell such an odour. Of course he had noticed it from the moment Taeyong had entered the school. But feeling him being so nervous was only amplifying the scent of his skin. Vampires did not have an attractive smell for lycans, quite the opposite. Their thin skin gave off a subtle perfume reminiscent of death, they liked to camouflage it with luxurious cologne with old-fashioned notes. The lycans had no trouble tracking down vampires during the old war between the Vampires and Lycans, their perfume was so special that they managed to follow them even in the best hidden crypts.

Taeyong had a different smell. Something that looked nothing like what Jaehyun had recorded in his olfactory memory. An amber aroma mixed with fresh notes exhaled his skin giving him an amazing identity.

Jaehyun pursed his lips, following the boy to the library.

Taeyong saw Ten beckoning to him as he entered the huge hall. The latter was with Johnny who obviously wasn't wanting to work.

"We should go on a table further."

Jaehyun's breath in his neck made him tremble. He did not know he was walking this close behind him.

"Ten will deconcentrate us. It's in the nature of his race", the wolf blew.

Taeyong waved to his friend before heading for a free table a little further.

The school library was breathtaking. Taeyong looked up, uncovering the shelves filled with old books that climbed to the vertiginous ceilings.

Huge colored stain-glass windows illuminated this enormous room in the center of which a large space had been left for the students.

Jaehyun saw Taeyong open his bag.

"I've already selected a few books yesterday," he said directly. "I went there after classes."

The lycan looked at the three big books and a smile appeared on his lips.

" History of the vampires, How to understand lycans and finally The old war and its consequences" said Taeyong breathless.

The lycan sat down, taking the first book. He quickly flipped through the hundreds of pages, lingering over a few pictures.

"I think we should try to talk first, don't you think ?"

Taeyong bit his tongue, hesitating for a moment. He didn't dare to look at Jaehyun. Should he sat in front of him?

"I guess so" eventually says the smaller one by sitting down quickly, pulling one of the books toward him to focus on something.

"Why aren't you coming to us !" shouted Johnny.

Jaehyun turned to send a glare at his friend.

"Because we want to work, unlike you."

Ten was hitting Johnny's shoulder to focus.

All the students looked at the table from the corner of the eye. Which ends up putting Taeyong terribly uncomfortable. It was the first time he was in front of a wolf and although he did not feel him aggressive, this simple situation was defying all the laws of their respective species.
