As Percy predicted they were attacked in the middle of the night. Cannons woke all the campers. It was amusing to see the cannon fire bounced back to them. Percy slipped on his clothing and saw sleepy faces. He had pity for them, "Campers, go rest. I shall fight our enemies alone." Campers complained as they yawned. Percy glared, "Do not disobey direct orders. I can not die so easily" They nodded and headed back to their cabins.

Up ahead was Annabeth, Thalia, and Nico. Annabeth's proud face stayed, her grey eyes looked sandy from the dust earlier. Thalia's brown hair flowed in the wind and her facial structure looked as she had an urge to kill. Nico's lean body shook and hatred swirled in his dark eyes. Thalia smirked at the low defense"Persues! Surrender, where are you companions? Did they ditch you?" Percy sighed. "Why must you be so prideful, Thalia? As for the campers are setting up Defense 71, how did you like my dusty storm? Not to shabby for my first time, huh?" Annabeth scowled at him. "Geez, chill Annie. Wars got in your head, for sure. Hmm, Nico the skeleton soldiers are in the shadows waiting for your command? " Nico if possible paled. "Athena's plan, the goddess awaits your signal to charge here along with the war god. Zeus has wind spirits, Hera's cows again? No monsters this time, Tartarus is angry with his use of army. Artemis' hunters are on standby. Yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah. Plan shmlan" Their faces looked worried.

"Believe me, you do not have to be a wisdom god or goddess to see this. My, your plans are too predictable, what ever happened to surprise? Dionysus knows that area all too well. Oh, where is Mr. D? His vines are traps, and Hephaestus brought Greek fire! Love the creativity! Thumbs up but, way too predictable" Annabeth somehow managed a smug grin. "Fine, yes you discovered our form of attack but what will you do about it?" Percy face palmed, "Never learn do you, Annie? I actually go with surprise. I am winging it. That's what Defense 71 is about. Do whatever you think will help"

"Thank you for the plan of what 71 is about" Nico said. "Did Athena teach you anything? 71 is winging it! UNPREDICTABLE!  Nico, your soldiers are anxious to start. So go ahead yell any commands you wish to! This shield protects camp better than the Golden Fleece ever did!" He dared.  "If you just joined us, no one would have to suffer!" Thalia yelled. "Yeah right. You and Nico KILLED my ex-mother! KILLED them in front of a little boy! Last time I checked cousins do NOT do that! Kale is now raised by me, he saw murder at the age of six! That, now that is cruel and evil. Which is now what all of you came to be! Annabeth I loved you so much I let you go, Nico you were my little brother, Thalia your were my big sister who cared for me! What made you all change?" He yelled back. The clouds darkened with thunder, fire formed and spread violently and left the boarder.

These flames were pure black they absorbed the Greek fire and consumed it, the flames danced and hissed at the skeletons. Their bones melted into ashes The metal swords turned into metal liquid that soaked into the Earth. Hera's cows charged but burned in the hot flames. Hephaestus and Leo tried to control the fire but both had nasty black burns on their hands and were forced to retreat. Buckets of water were thrown, what would have been impossible to science happened. The water fed the fire and joined them. Percy made hand movements directing the fire were to spread. The hunters's arrows caught on fire, the wind spirits tried directing the fire away along with Zeus. These effortless attempts formed a grim face to Athena. "I will show my true form!" She yelled no one heard since the fire hissed too loudly.

A golden purple light formed. Percy looked directly to the goddess true form but was not dead. It was a powerful force that only killed demigods and huntresses that did not hear. Soon  The fire surrounded everyone. "Persues Jackson, how are you able to control the flames?" Zeus yelled. Percy smiled, "A little trick I came up with, surrender? Or same time tomorrow?" He asked. Percy knew the answer, Zeus being to prideful, said  "Never".  Athena whispered to him as the flames came closer to their skin. "Father, my true form did nothing to the boy! No gods from their side have even made an appearance! I am doubting our chances of winning!" Annabeth whined as the fire was about to touch her skin. "Mom, please! The fire it's closer" Thalia looked worried as she saw fallen hunters burning. Zeus sighed, he flashed them away.
