Jinyoung sighed as he continued to scroll through her Instagram profile. It had been a year since he confessed and started a relationship with the one and only, Kim Jisoo. She's not just a Kim Jisoo living in South Korea. She's the Kim Jisoo—a member of Blackpink (a group that managed to perform in Coachella, if he might add), a very talented one, a woman that everyone calls their "goddess" and most of all, his ex-girlfriend.

He found it funny. He found how the world would work both amusing and disappointing. Why, you might ask?

Way before Jisoo became his ex-girlfriend, she was only a colleague to him—someone who he's friends with exclusively because of work. If you hadn't known, he was an MC for the famous music show called Inkigayo, along with NCT's Doyoung and of course, the ex herself, Jisoo. Flash forward after their memorable yet sad goodbye for their last episode, he had a phone call with her. Ah, the phone call that started it all, Jinyoung thought to himself. The phone call that served as his way of confessing. The phone call that started their relationship.

Just when the world gave him his own, it decided to take it back through the same way—a phone call. That's how Jinyoung began calling Jisoo his ex-girlfriend that he couldn't seem to forget. How could he? She's all over the news. Everyone had been praising her. She's in social medias. She's everywhere.

Jinyoung sighed as he exited the application he had been trying to avoid—not only because he couldn't fight the urge to look at Jisoo's account but also because he wasn't fond of social media in the first place. Just when he thought not using Instagram was the best choice, he found himself looking through his past conversations with Jisoo. Yes, he still hadn't deleted them—they were too precious to do so. All they had in their conversations were happy moments—conversations varying from food to their favorite quotes from books they've read.

The only message that he found bothering was:

Jinyoung, can I call you? ASAP.

Do you miss my voice
that much?

I'll call you now.

The memory made him cringe. It was the second week of January. It was a week before their failed but funny attempt to celebrate the New Year. Nothing bad happened even though they didn't get to meet. They decided to sing each other songs instead and Jinyoung thought it was also a great way to celebrate New Year—hearing the voice of the person you truly love. It was like heaven.

Jinyoung was foolish to think that Jisoo was calling him because she missed him and would want to see him. After all, it had been weeks since they had seen each other. He couldn't help but cringe at the image of him smiling from side to side because he was going to hear Jisoo's voice that would never fail to make him smile. Her voice was as bright as her personality so, he never expected that he would be hearing sadness from the same voice—a voice that would suddenly take that smile off of his face.

He was excited upon pressing Jisoo's name on his phone, immediately calling her. It didn't take a few seconds for Jisoo to answer it—pushing his positive thoughts furthermore in his head.

"You really miss me that much, huh?" Jinyoung had teased, chuckling afterwards.

A few seconds of silence. That's what Jinyoung heard. He heard nothing. That's when he realized that something was wrong. Jisoo would always greet him with her lively voice, telling him how much he missed him before asking how his day went. But tonight was an exception because all he heard was a few seconds of silence, followed by Jisoo taking a deep breath as if she could no longer hold whatever's she's holding in.
