The thing about sleep is that when you awake from it you can never remember the exact moment that you fell into it, and I more often than not compare it to love. In a way, when you meet someone and get to know them you can never pinpoint the exact time or place that you fell in love with them, it just happened and then you're stuck with that overwhelming affection for them.

That's how it was for Harry and I, the moment we fell in love is unknown but it seemed so unnecessary to figure out when it was because we both knew exactly how we felt for one another.

Sure, it took plenty of awkward confrontations and horribly embarrassing remarks from me which resulted in regret for days, but somewhere along the way us happened, and it's pretty beautiful to think about.

A call for help coming from the kitchen downstairs caused me to groan, but I knew that I actually had to get up because the smell of burnt pancakes had made it to our room, and I really did not want the house to burn down with me still in it.

I rolled out from the duvet, putting on slippers which Harry had gotten me last Christmas. I remember opening the shoe box to find them, not even upset that all he'd gotten me were the comfortable pair of footwear. Then all of a sudden he smiled like an idiot and brought out an even bigger box with holes punctured into it, and I squealed like little girl when I opened it to find a small puppy.

Harry said he was our "child" seeming as we don't plan on having kids for awhile, and I decided to name the little husky after one of my favorite fictional characters, Augustus.

"Leah, help I've fallen and I can't get up!" An over dramatized Harry was yelling as I walked into the kitchen, and sure enough he was lying on the ground in just a pair of checkered boxers.

I couldn't help but laugh at the state of him, "what the hell happened in here?" Pancake mix was all over the counter, looking as if he'd thrown it on there for fun.

"You see, I was going to take Augustus out for his morning walk-"

"In your underwear?" I questioned, having to interrupt to see if he was serious.

"Yeah- so anyway, his leash got all wrapped around me so I ended up falling and banging my knee against the counter."

"How did that get everywhere then?" I asked, pointing to the mess on the counter.

"I was going to make you some pancakes since it's your first day interning and everything, you know, being the amazing fiancé I am."

I couldn't help but smile whenever he brought up the fact that we were engaged, still feeling the same way I did just a day after he proposed, practically on cloud nine.

Shaking my head at him, I took his hands in mine and pulled him to his feet. Flour covered part of his cheek, and I quickly wiped it off with the pad of my thumb. His emerald eyes watched my movements, and when I was done he pressed his lips to mine before wrapping his arms around my waist as mine found his hair.

Even after all these years it seemed like we couldn't get enough of each other, passion never being one of our issues. In this moment though, we were interrupted by a still growing Augustus barking at us like he was going mad.

Harry sighed before pulling away, "Gus, you've really got to stop stealing all the spotlight."

I looked down to find the small husky with precious blue eyes staring up at us with his head cocked to the side, and for some reason Harry still wondered why the dog deserved a spot in bed between us, he was clearly too adorable to be left in a cage all night.

"I guess you're lucky we don't actually have a kid then because they'd get all the attention and you," I quickly kissed him, "would get nothing."

Without waiting for an eye roll or response, I picked up Gus' camouflage leash before attaching it to his collar, and taking him out the back door.

After the lease on our apartment was up Harry decided that we'd move to a low cost mortgage house, something small for us to start out with. Luckily with everything that had gone on with Nikolai, we have more than enough to pay for everything without a hard time like other adults our age.

Whenever we meet new people, whether it's in London or around the campus area, they are always surprised at how such a young couple already have a house and are engaged, most likely thinking we are crazy. Honestly we may be, but Harry and I have been through so much in the past six years that how our relationship has turned out up to this point does make us seem at least a bit sane.

Now, as I walked around the small backyard I wished we had a fence so Harry and I didn't have to alternate taking Augustus outside, but hopefully in the future that will be something that we do acquire along with so much more.

After Gus finished his business I brought him inside, finding Harry stood over the stove with an apron that I bought him last year wrapped around his waist.

"Do you want blueberries in your pancakes, babe?" Harry asked, turning around to reveal the picture of a strongly built man on his front. I began to laugh just as much as when I bought it, loving the fact that he wears it often without complaint.

"Blueberries sound great, thank you."

He smiled before turning back around, "anything for you."

As Harry started his work in the kitchen I walked up behind him before leaning up and kissing his cheek, then walked to the coffee maker and poured myself a cup. For my first day of interning I did not plan on being like a zombie while walking into the hospital.

"You know I'm really proud of you, right?" Harry said while flipping his creation, causing a smile to form on my lips.

I'd always thought of becoming a pediatrician, but Harry was the one that convinced me to go through with changing my major. He pushed me through coursework and encouraged me along the way until just recently when I was able to get my diploma, and also an internship at a world renowned hospital in London. To say the least, I can probably give Harry most of the credit for what I've achieved up till now, even though he'd probably quickly reject it.

"I couldn't have done it without you, you know that," I say.

Harry shrugs while moving four pancakes onto a plate, "I pretty much just pushed you to do something you were to scared to go through with yourself, it's not like I earned your degree for you." He laughs shortly before carrying the plate full of pancakes over to the dining room table.

"Now shut up and eat your pancakes because you've got a long day ahead of you," Harry orders.

I laugh before sitting down, watching as he goes back to the kitchen and retrieves plates for each of us. Augustus is curiously following Harry as he sits at the table. Noticing our puppy, he begins petting the top of his head. As I watch them with a smile I can't help but think how wonderful my life has become, and how much I hope that it stays this way forever.
