Expecting

Prologue

Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Usually, I would sleep in and not come out of my room for hours but I felt like I should do something different for once. I mean I'm starting to become an actual adult. There are so many responsibilities flying at me one after another and it gets stressful. So, instead of sitting in my room pulling out my hair in stress, I am letting the sun destroy my skin. It was peaceful, sitting in my three hundred dollar chair that I just had to have and enjoying it while I could. Well, that is until my mom sat next to me. My mom was so scared that I was gonna run away with Dominic and never talk to her again. She still blames herself after what happened with Dad...

"Hey hun." Her voice was full of sorrow, she probably just pulled herself together to come out and talk.

"Hi." Silence followed after that. Seconds turned into minutes. It was getting hard to breathe how tense it was.

"How has your day been going, do anything fun?" I can tell she only asked that to ease the tension but it didn't help from her voice crack at the end of her sentence.

"I...really didn't do much mom. I've just been sitting out here doing pretty much nothing while the sun has been attacking my skin." My mom gave me a slight chuckle and made me smile. We really just sat there for a short time enjoying the sun on our skin and the cars driving by.

"Well, I'm going to Dom's." My mom's head perked up a little and frowned.

"Again?" She questioned.

"Yea, I want to see him and he said that his parents just leeeft." I dragged out the e for too long and received an eye roll from her.

"Don't do anything stupid please, you're only eighteen."

"I won't do anything stupid mom, promise." She didn't realize but I had my fingers crossed behind my back.

When I arrived at Dominic's I couldn't say I was surprised. Three little boys were running around in his front lawn playing some sort of game. Those were his brothers, Tomy, Jordan, and JJ. JJ and Tomy were so sweet but the other one I would drop kick if I had the chance.

"Hey Lil Lil" That was a nickname JJ and Tomy made up and were proud of it. 

"Hey poo face." And there was Jordan, little brat. 

"Hey cuties...and Jordan, do you guys know where Dominic is?"

"He's outback fixing up his car."

"Of course he is, thanks." Dominic was obsessed with that pile of trash, sometimes I think that he would pick that car over me.

They were right, after opening the gate to the backyard I saw him working on the grey garbage can.

"Why are you still working on that car Dom?" I asked, clearly annoyed.

"Lilly, do I ask you why you still try to fix that vibrator you still have?" He shot back.

"What?" I have no words on to how to respond to that.

"Exactly."

"No, like what? One, I don't own a vibrator and two, how the hell do you break a vibrator."

"I'm just teasing babe, what's up?"

"You are so confusing sometimes."

"So, did you do a pregnancy test?" As the words came out of his mouth, it hit me, I wasn't relaxing on my porch for nothing, I was heading out to go to the store for a pregnancy test. Laziness took over so it's not my fault. 

"I forgot about that, dang." Blood was having a party on my cheeks how red they were.

"Here. I knew you would forget." He handed me a pregnancy test and gave me a toothy grin.

"Your so weird, did you go to the store just for this?"

"No, I was getting some parts for my car and I remembered about that."

"What place has car parts and pregnancy tests?"

"Walmart." I could've guessed...

"Well, I'm gonna go use this and blow up your toilet with a massive shit."

"Please don't"

"Babe it's too late the shit is starting to poke out." I couldn't hold in the laughter from my amazing joke.

"Ha ha, seriously though, I just unclogged because of JJ."

"Sucks to be you then." I then turned and went on my way to the bathroom. Anxiety started to fill my body as I got closer and closer. It never crossed my mind that I would be pregnant. There is no way I could be but the thought of that slight chance that a condom wouldn't work kinda made me worried. My life would be completely different and there is a chance of it being disabled. With these new laws coming out of any baby with a disability needing to be killed from overpopulation made me even more worried. I didn't realize I was standing in front of the bathroom door, staring at it until Tomy pulled me out of my thoughts.

"What are you doing Lil Lil." He had a concerning look on his face, he probably thought I was going crazy.

"Nothing, go back out and play with your brothers." 

He nodded his head and ran away. Once he was out of my sight, I walked into the bathroom and locked the door. Deep breathes helped me calm me down and I teared open the box to reveal the pregnancy test. The urgency to pee shot through my body and I did my business and then placed it on the counter. My heart rate had to be skyrocketing right now. This was a terrifying experience, and thought about whether or not I should have sex again. I took a deep breathe once again and picked up the pregnancy test. Puking was my first reaction to the results because according to the pregnancy test I was indeed pregnant.
