Death of a Dream (Forgotten)

This empty space

Shallow, like the shadows of fate

Hollow through the lens of your saving grace

Am I just a piece of

The puzzle left unsolved

The story, half-written

The longing, the sorrow

Tattered and turning

Through longings and yearnings

For medicine to sooth all this pain

The wet streaks

Glisten, down the side of my face

In a question of why I can't find my place

Am I just coincidence

A truth without meaning

A record, left spinning

Inaudible sounds, inaudible sounds

Intoxicated, slurring

This fire, once burning

Is cold and black

Can't hold it back

The reason, I knew of

The gift, I used to share with you

Fades to black

In a moment, you'll forget all of the words I've said

In a second I'll be just a fragment left

In a memory, you can't seem to not forget

Just a thing that you left here with no regret
