Chapter 11

He froze for a while before tapping another part of the wall.

Nutcracker's kagune appeared a few seconds later.

"Figured out the puzzle?" I asked.

"Yeah, I can sort of detect where the kagunes are planted," Shirazu replied.

"Well, captain, I hope you figure out the plan soon," I said before joining Hayashimura.

Nutcracker aimed her bikaku towards him, and he quickly blocked it with his sword-like quinque.

She kept on aiming towards Hayashimura.

I then sliced her bikaku.

Nutcracker quickly turned her head towards me.

"It seems that you forgot another opponent," I said.

Hayashimura took the opportunity to strike.

Nutcracker scoffed as she fought the both of us.

"Please, Saiko," I heard Shirazu say, "We really need your skills!"

"But, I need to level up first..." Saiko said.

"We're waiting for you, Rank 3 Investigator Shirazu!" Hayashimura yelled.

He then ducked as Maya aimed her regenerated bikaku towards him.

I put my knives back into a spear as I jumped.

I spun my spear as shards came out of it.

Nutcracker blocked my shards.

Hayashimura then attacked her, but she quickly rolled out of the way.

"Saiko!" Shirazu yelled.

"This game is too hard for me," I heard Saiko said.

I back flipped towards the two while dodging Nutcracker's attacks

"Saiko," I said, "Let's beat Nutcracker and help Haise. If we don't, he might die!"

"Mamman might die...?" Saiko mumbled.

"That's why Saiko, we need you!" Shirazu said as he put a hand on her shoulder.

Saiko nodded.

Hayashimura was hit by Nutcracker's kagune.

He stumbled back towards us.

"Hayashimura-san!" I yelled.

"I'm sorry, I reached my peak!" he admitted.

"Thank you," Shirazu said.

"Then, can we start attacking?" Hayashimura asked.

The four of us then ran separate ways.

Hayashimura and I ran towards Nutcracker while Shirazu ran to our right and Saiko to our left.

Nutcracker aimed her kagune at Hayashimura again, but this time I managed to block it with my spear and pushed it away.

Nutcracker then jumped.

Shirazu took this as a chance to aim his shards towards her, and she quickly blocked them with her koukakus.

Nutcracker was pushed back by the shards and quickly flew towards the wall.

Suddenly, the kagune she planted pierced her stomach as she coughed out blood.

"Saiko!" Shirazu and I yelled.

Saiko closed her eyes.

When she opened them, her kakugan appeared on her left eye.

"Mamman!" she yelled.
