"Like an angel with cruel and merciless intent, go forth young boy and you'll become a legend..." the song goes on from there as I sit in my seat on the hyper train. Astria looks nice this time of year: test day. Today, me along with 100 other hopefuls will take the Sync Test to see if we qualify to pilot the Hunter Class Mechs for Astria's army. As we arrived at the station, the history video began to play. "Long long ago..." blah blah blah, all this stuff I know. Astria and Nostro are fighting over land, we have Mechs called "Hunters" to help even the odds, so does Nostro, the test will see how you fair synced up to a Hunter, teams are made based on scores, and boom! All of that they cover in your 8th grade year! As we started to load off, our names were called. Lucky for me, I'm quite high on the list. "Killian....Aiju?" The man said. That's me, Killian Aiju, hopeful pilot of a Hunter mech. I've been training for this all my life, and today was the day! I was going to take the test and become a pilot, no matter what!
After my name was called, I grabbed my bag and headed to my assigned room. All I had was my ComPage, my ComTab, and my SmartSpecs. I set those in the assigned bucket and sat in my seat. I was stressed, nervous, but also excited. This was my life, I had this in the bag! I went to the bathroom and got a drink, still thinking over my prep notes. Then the bell rang and I sat down again. The test was handed out, I grabbed my pencil, and I began what would be the most stressful hour of my teenage life.
