Heartbroken again...

*part 1

"Wake up, lazy ass! We need to go to school." I woke up to the sound of my best friend screaming. "5 more minutes please." "Sky, c'mon we're almost late." she said while throwing a pillow at me. "Alright, I'm up."

My name is Skyler, but everyone calls me Sky. My parents are never home and I don't have any siblings, that's why my best friend, Blair, practically lives with me. I got up and got dressed did my hair and makeup and then we left for school.

When we arrived we met up with our friends. Cynthia, Allison, Shawn, Cameron, Nash, Matthew, Johnson, Aaron and Gilinsky stood there and Blair and I said hello to everyone. "Hey babe, I missed you." Gilinsky said, kissing me. "I missed you too." Gilinsky and I are, what they call us the 'power couple' of our school. We've been together for almost 2 years.

The bell rang it was time for our first period. I have biology right now, which I don't have a problem with because I love that subject and Gilinsky has biology too, so we could walk together. "See you guys later" "Bye".

"Hey, this guy James is throwing a party this Friday, wanna come?" Jack asked me during biology. "Sure." "Great I'll pick you up." he said.

 "For your project, you're working with the person next to you, this project is very important so don't forget it! It should be done by next week." our teacher said. "Guess we're doing this together." Jack smirked.

School ended and Blair and I went to Starbucks together. We got our typical drinks and were on our way to go home when I suddenly got a call from Matthew. "Hey Matt, what's up?" "Skyler, can I come over? It's my parents again.." "Yeah sure, I will be there in 5." "Thanks." he said and hang up. "Hey I can't hang out tonight, is it good if I drop you off at your house?" I asked Blair. "Yeah sure, but what's wrong with Matt?" "I'm sorry, I can't talk about it..."

Matthew's parents always fight. His father is an alcoholic and beats him up sometimes when he's drunk. No one knows about this, except for me. He's scared, that if people know, that he's going to be taken away by CPS. I feel bad for Matthew, he doesn't deserve this, but it's good that he lives 2 streets further than me, so he can come over whenever he wants. He is like a brother to me.

When I arrived I saw him sitting on my porch. "Hey, how are- omg what happened to your face?" I said examining his face. "Can we talk inside?" "Yeah, of course, come in." We went upstairs to my room. "So tell me what happened?" I asked him worried. "My dad..., he punched me... the situation is getting worse by the day. "I'm so sorry you have to go through this, you don't deserve this. You know that I'm always here for you Matt, right?" "Yes thank you Sky!" he responded while hugging me.
